Lovely, pastoral bay views here with ocean breeze on the outdoor patio. Inside is cozy and charming, complete with jazz pianist playing standards. Food however, is pricey and merely average. Best bet is to head to the patio for happy hour at 4pm for appies and vino, then go elsewhere for dinner.

We always enjoy going to the Mission Ranch restaurant. Is relaxing and the view is enjoyable. Usually the food is quite good. The artichokes have always been a favorite. Tonight we ordered several artichokes, and they were not cooked enough to easily eat the meat off of the leaf. Evidently there is no resolution to under cooked artichokes. The shrimp... More

Well as much as I would like to rate our visit excellent I can't. I can say the food was average but the service was mediocre at best. It started off with this, just after we placed our order a waitress dropped dishes next to our table splattering ketchup up onto my new shirt in two places and while she... More

Came in for dinner after a long day playing golf. We almost left due to the long wait, glad we didn't. Very laid back atmosphere with beautiful views of the countryside, reminds me of steakhouses from yesteryear, in an older building with big steak fries and those wooden steak sticks that are stuck into your steak showing how it was... Our family always returns here to gather from places all over the world. Although none of us live in Carmel now, we still think of it as home from our childhood decades ago. One of our rituals is to eat on the patio and look across to our grandparents old house. We have never had a disappointing meal over the... More

It's both fancy and casual, with good service and very good food. The outside patio is delightful on days with good weather. In cold weather the heaters outside make it cozy and inside by the fireplace is sublime. It offers expansive views of the wetlands out to the ocean and leaves you with a sense of the paradise that once... More

After walking Point Lobos, we decided to check out this restaurant/inn that was highly recommended by a friend who grew up in the area. There is a story to it involving Clint Eastwood rescuing the ranch from bankruptcy, but I'm not solid on the details. It's absolutely beautiful, charming and memorable. We stopped just for wine and a few appetizers... More

Went with the intention of only have drinks but ended up staying for dinner because of the amazing views. While sitting on the patio taking it all in, we not only watched the sheep graze but saw a whale spout water out in the ocean! Dinner menu is a bit more than classic than we normal go for (we enjoy... More

Food and ambience was great... the music was superb! The piano player virtually didn't stop playing the entire evening.

Breathtaking views, impeccable service, outstanding food. What's not to like. One of my favorite restaurants in the country. It had been 7 years since the last time I was there and nothing had changed, which is a good thing.
