Stop here every time we are in Carmel! Sit at the oyster bar and watch them shuck your order! We split our order between East coast oysters and Tomales bay oysters to compare. Both are delicious, but the smaller Tomales bay oysters are wonderful!

Limited menu but very nice choices. Had the clam chowder (excellent) and husband had the shrimp tacos (he loved them). Of course this is probably primarily a bar, so they have have a full bar with many drink options. Small space, but we eat early do didn't have trouble getting a table both night. Probably fills up later.

The choices for wine and liquor are endless. I had some of the best Rosè at this restaurant that I have had in a long while. The server, I wish I could remember her name, was so helpful and nice. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. I will say the French fries are surprisingly memorable for... More

I have eaten and had drinks here 3 times. I have enjoyed it and will come back yet again. It is a fun and popular place in Carmel Village. Great Bloody Marys. It specializes in oysters, which are very good. Also, it is one of the few places which offers Manhattan clam chowder, in addition to the more famous New... More

Walked down from our hotel for shopping and a drink. Wound up here as it looked like a nice spot. Good beer and liquor selections. Looking for a light dinner and order the clam chowder and turkey sandwich. Chowder was just average and needed salt and pepper which helped but still bland. Great atmosphere and staff while we sat at... More

When we visit the Carmel-Pacific Grove area, a couple times a year, A W Shucks is at the top of our list. We try to sit at the bar in this relatively small place that is casual, even boisterous. We enjoy oysters, raw or cooked, crab cakes and other seafood specialties, while watching the staff work their shucking magic. Nice... More

By the time we rolled into Carmel, it was a car load of starving scenery struck tourists... And the only thing to satisfy a craving like that is a hearty, juicy, decadent, American burger! After a brisk walk and review of menus, we decided to go in for the kill... unfortunately, there was an expected wait of approximately 45 minutes.... More

Get reservations otherwise on busy weekends 30-60 minutes wait time. Normal food not over priced. Good service. Will return.

For a quaint little seafood lunch, this is the place to settle down for a great meal. The service was quick and respectful and the food was hot and tasteful.
