If you are looking for a beautiful, quaint restaurant in Carmel - this is it! Everything from the wine, eggs benedict with the best hollandaise sauce - service, etc. was exceptional. This is our new go to place and have recommended it to all of our friends. There is outside patio dining as well as a full bar inside. We... More

Gorgeous day in beautiful Carmel and this is where we chose to have lunch on the patio and with our big dog. The food was delicious and paired with a lovely bottle of wine, good service and comfortable atmosphere, we had a lovely time! The onion tartlet to start was yummy. Extensive wine list which was nice but a bit... More

We took our family here for a special occasion and were not disappointed. The food was outstanding and worth every penny if you enjoy fine dining. The quality of the sauces and presentation were excellent and that can make all the difference if you have high expectations. We dined on the patio and I would describe it as casual elegance.... We were back where we used to live, beautiful Carmel, Ca., stepped into the warm ambiance of Grasing's, right off the plaza, owner, Mr. Grasing, present to speak with his lunch guests. No pretense, just genuine care, we love that. He's been there 18 years already (when others have come & gone). Our server, Angel, did a first rate job... More

We returned to Grasing's this year with good memories of very good food and great service. Happy to report that the food quality was just as delicious as remembered; the service less so. Given the caliber of dining at Grasin's, I was expecting service to be better than the slow, uneven service we experienced that night.

Menu is just delectable. want to try something new, go there. it is pricey, would be nice for a special occasion. Very interesting specialty drinks at the bar. Wait staff, most often are very attentive.

Over MLK weekend we dropped in first for a mid afternoon drink then decided to book for dinner. What a perfect chance meeting! Our meal was top rate and service and wine selection were tops too. Mostly a steak/chop house but should please just about everyone. Setting was as charming as the town itself.

Decided to try some place new for our seventh anniversary. Started out wonderful. Kevin, our server, was nice and our wine and salads came quickly and were good. Then we waited and waited and waited! Our dinners took over an hour to arrive! Kevin kept coming and apologizing. We apparently ordered the same time a 50 top did in the... More

Had a great time with friends with awesome service, food and spirits. Had the power go out during rain storm, waited for over an hour to have it restored and it was well worth the wait. Would recommend to all!!!

Description
Grasing’s, located in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, lies along the Pacific Coast in Central California in Monterey County. It is 120 miles south of San Francisco, 70 miles south of San Jose and 350 miles north of Los Angeles. Celebrity chef partners, Kurt Grasing and Narsai David, truly created a gem. Fancifully designed in warm hues and modern art work, Grasing’s sets the stage for entertaining that is at once festive and intimate. From friendly and professional service, an award winning wine list and seasonally inspired cocktails to the fresh and sustainable local ingredients are only a few reasons why Grasing’s still receives rave reviews from the press. Just recently, Grasing’s was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” and “Business of the Year” by the Carmel Business Association. Chef Grasing was also honored recently by the American Culinary Federation and received an award for “Chef of the Year”.
