First, we ordered some truffle parmesan popcorn to nibble on, and a bottle of Chardonnay. The wine was not chilled enough, and the popcorn was chewy and stale. We were brought another bowl and that was fresh by comparison. Then, when our entrees came, the sea bass was so terribly overcooked and dry that we had difficulty swallowing it. This... More

Lovely restaurant in Carmel. We were lucky to be staying so close to this gem - stumbled upon it quite accidentally, and so glad we did. Unique cocktails and food. Perfection!

We have been visiting Carmel frequently over the past 25 years or so. Discovered Grasing's about 3 years ago. The service has always been excellent, as has the food!

We found this restaurant because we happened to park near it while visiting Carmel recently. What a wonderful find for lunch! We were a party of 7, sat out in the back on the patio and had the good fortune to be served by Mike, a most interesting and attentive professional. The food was fresh and delicious and was worthy... Excellent food and service. A bit pricey. Extensive and expensive wine list but something for everyone.

We popped in to Grasings's and were able to secure a table on the patio. The evening was chilly but with the heaters we were warm - loved the atmosphere. We decided to be adventurous and ordered the Petite Paella as an appetizer and split the Glazed Sea Bass. Our server was good, although not extremely attentive, with good suggestions.... More

Three of us were looking for a pre-dinner cocktail, having just arrived in Carmel. We stopped in, sat at the bar and had terrifc appetizers and superb drinks. The bartender is a true artist, and knows the proper way to mix drinks. We should have stayed for dinner, but had made other plans. We will all go back.

My husband and I went to this restaurant for dinner last night. Judging by the prices and the atmosphere, I figure we were in for a treat. I ordered the "Sea of Cortez Prawns" and my husband order a steak, and mac and cheese. I'm convinced that the shrimp were seasoned, but they neglected to season the rest of the... More

Great service, great food and great suggestion of wine. The dessert thou was way to sweet, if you crave for something more of bitter chocolate paradisie.

The meals were very good. The service was not so good, our server (Mario) did not know the menu. My wife found a small round item in the bottom of her wine glass Mario said it was sediment. He removed her half full glass and had the manager explain that it was just a piece of the wrapper. Since the... More

Grasing’s, located in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, lies along the Pacific Coast in Central California in Monterey County. It is 120 miles south of San Francisco, 70 miles south of San Jose and 350 miles north of Los Angeles. Celebrity chef partners, Kurt Grasing and Narsai David, truly created a gem. Fancifully designed in warm hues and modern art work, Grasing’s sets the stage for entertaining that is at once festive and intimate. From friendly and professional service, an award winning wine list and seasonally inspired cocktails to the fresh and sustainable local ingredients are only a few reasons why Grasing’s still receives rave reviews from the press. Just recently, Grasing’s was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” and “Business of the Year” by the Carmel Business Association. Chef Grasing was also honored recently by the American Culinary Federation and received an award for “Chef of the Year”.
