I write this review with a slightly tainted view. 30 years ago I worked for this family at their sister restaurant, La Boheme. After two years in Carmel, I returned to my family back in Pa and opened the first of my 3 restaurants, called appropriately, Cafe Carmel. Again, that was 30 years ago. Recently I had the pleasure of... More

Located a few blocks from the shopping and dining mayhem of Carmel, this is the place to eat when in this city. Linda and I discovered this restaurant more than 20 years ago on our first visit to Carmel. Looking for lunch, we asked a local store owner for a good place to eat and here is where she sent... Casanova promises a romantic experience... it delivered that plus AMAZING food and service. My boyfriend and I went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The host (perhaps the owner?) allowed us to select an indoor secluded table or the outdoor patio under a heater. We chose the patio. It was decorated with cute Italian pottery and Christmas lights. We started... More

It came with high recommendation but it is overrated. It is pricey which I don't mind especially when on vacation. I ordered salmon and why in the world they will serve a non fresh cut just to ruin a meal. This time I have to suck it up because I was on a special family bonding trip in a long... More

My wife and I ate there about 3-4 years ago and had a wonderful dining experience (food, service and ambiance). Last Sunday we met another couple for dinner and 2 out of three (service and ambiance) were still spot on but the food was a mixed bag. My wife had the soup and I selected the gnocchi as an appetizer,... More

A friend recommended this spot, so six of us, visiting the area, tried it. Food was very good, and service was good as well. We would definitely return, when in the area.

We love taking our dog to Casanova - the staff are always welcoming & warm. The food consistently exceeds our expectations. For our anniversary, they wrote "happy anniversary" across the desert plate! Great spot for pampering service & excellent cuisine.

We are from NYC so have higher expectations than most but the food here was subpar and quite expensive for what it is. The staff were friendly and attentive but the food was really not good. I can't recommended another Italian restaurant at this time in Carmel but we did go to the happy hour at Il Fiornio and got... More

We had a great meal. Our waiter was very knowledgable. We had salmon and aussobucco. Excellent. Desert was awesome. Definitely a hit.
