Planning our Carmel trip, we had high expectations for this restaurant given its reputation and the reviews we found. And while we don't consider ourselves overly critical, we do have many years of experience, as foodies, with good and exceptional restaurants, and, frankly, Casanova just didn't make the cut. Perhaps patrons with well-known names or faces get special treatment at... More

My daughter & I spent the weekend in Carmel, CA on a mother/daughter special weekend. We chose to eat, one evening, at Casanova's Restaurant. The restaurant was crowded but there happened to be a little table on the patio. It was a perfect evening, weather wise. The waiter was so knowledgeable and helpful. The food was fantastic! The ambiance was... More

We are there Friday night and it was very busy due to the car events. The special tempanade and breadsticks were delicious. We shared an heirloom tomato salad with burrata cheese with a balsamic drizzle was devine as the tomatoes were at their height in the season. We both had their homemade pasta- 1-fettuccine with seafood which was very good;... More

I've been to Casanova each year for the past 15+ years. In the past it was always overcrowded (tables too close together) with long waits. Not sure if it's no longer on the "must" list or what, but the experience has changed for the better! Very good food (although smaller sized portions), good wine list and good service. Would def... Atmosphere, food presentation nice, service excellent. However dinner salad extremely small and the Ravioli main could have been eaten in 6-7 mouthfuls for a combined price close to $50. Glad we paid the $20 corkage as the wine we brought was on the wine list for $100. Maybe it's me not used to California destination place prices.

We returned to one of our all time favorites, Casanova Restaurant in the village of Carmel. This intimate, charming place has fabulous food and great service. Third time was a charm in the seating division. We had reservations and I explained when making them that we were having a celebration. Well, at first they stuck us in a table for... More

Two times I visited this place and each time it is consistently good. The two times were few years apart but the food and services they provided were excellent both times. We had the course in both visits. This is one of the most romantic restaurant in Carmel. I love it that the wine glasses are so clean. Every seat... More

This place is absolutely charming. The ambiance is excellent, refined yet comfortable. It is exceptional in affect. The staff is friendly, eager to please, very professional. The food is outstanding. Some items are pricey, but it is well worth it. Ingredients are fresh and top quality, preparation and presentation outstanding. This place has always been remarkable. There are few places... More

We celebrated our 32nd anniversary at this highly rated restaurant (thanks, fellow trip advisors! You never steer me wrong). We had the Faust cabernet wine--deep, dark, and hanging on the glass. Delicious. For an appetizer, we dined on an array of cheeses, lavender honey, pistachios, and bread. Yummy! My husband and I both dined on the halibut which was cooked... More

Heirloom tomatoes and gnocchi for appetizers, halibut was a good choice. I was undecided between creme brûlée and lemon puff pastry. Winter recommended brûlée and it was wonderful. Wine list is quite extensive and very expensive. There are cheaper options at the bar they don't tell about, so ask. Cute place, professional wait staff. Lovely evening. We were upstairs in... More
