Very poor food. Extremely expensive for quality. Service is okay. Am truly staggered to see this place recommended in some magazines and guides. Avoid.

The reputation of this restaurant is better than today's reality in my opinion. The gnocchi is still amazing but unfortunately the eat it and beat it attitude of the kitchen/management ruined our evening. The kitchen was more concerned with a large wedding party and the timing of their food over our table of two. As a result our ossu buco... More

This is a wonderful place for a very romantic dinner in Carmel. There is a fixed menu situation where you order from various categories, so it is not for the budget traveler desiring lesser priced overall options, but the food is excellent. Outside or inside dining depending on the weather. Always a go-to place in Carmel--my personal favorite. Have the... More

Aweful food. The salmon was under cooked, tasteless and had a blood vein running throuh it. The rhubarb pie was dry and tasted old. each glass of wine was 14.00. Yep. rediculous. This is not Ventana so Pleeease enough with the gouging. We paid close to 100.00 for lunch for 2. I've travelled the world and this place that is... More

Do yourself a favor and go to Casanova when in Carmel. Quaint, intimate setting with great food! We had the braise beef cannelloni and the rack of lamb. The cannelloni was to die for. The lamb was tender and very flavorful. The sommelier, Matthew, was knowledgeable and very nice. After dinner, he accommodated a tour of the cellar for us.... More

Outstanding food and service. The restaurant's character really shows when you step inside as it looks like you've been transported to a small village in Europe. I had the filet with truffle butter, and it was cooked just like how I prefer it. It's a small restaurant so the tables are close to each other but not to the point... More

"The table at which Vincent Van Gogh enjoyed his meals at the Auberge Ravoux has found a new home at Casanova. The arrival of the table marks the beginning of a cultural exchange between two artistic communities. The table gives Chef David Baron the opportunity to express his culinary creativity by making each dining experience unique. The menu is driven... More

Loved the rack of lamb and seafood pasta, stellar wine list and "Black Manhattan". Server (Richard) was polished and professional, and the setting is magical. Perfect dinner for my 50th bday!

Charges fine-dining prices but delivers average food. Mains varied in size - my husband had a good sized lamb rack while mine was starter size but the prices were exorbitant! His lamb was fatty and more like mutton. They did not have the wine we ordered and the one we settled for was not the year they indicated! On the... More
