I've owned more than one restaurant and prided myself in training my staff to give excellent customer service, hence my annoyance when treated otherwise. La Balena was a few blocks from our hotel and said it was dog friendly, so we decided to give it...More

By all means eat outdoors. The inside is depressing. The food is very good. The restaurant is in an old house but the patios are very nice.

The restaurant is small and has a lovely whimsical-feeling patio area. Service is very good - friendly and efficient. Sadly like many restaurants in Carmel, the food is only okay and fairly high priced given the quality.

Not sure. There is a patio area in the back, but you have to walk through the restaurant to get there. There's nothing noted on their website regarding pets. Suggest calling them.
