We were fortunate to visit on a fairly slow, mid-week afternoon/evening after Labor Day weekend. We were there for dinner and got a table by the outdoor fireplace right away. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the offerings. We each had a wonderful meal with drinks. Adjacent to the outdoor patio where we ate was a partly enclosed bar... More

Stopped in for Happy Hour and we really enjoyed it. Patio is a fun environment. The food we ordered was bar food, but very well done. Service was very good as well. We will return!

This place was recommended by a local person who was carrying his Yorkie. He told us several restaurants we might like. We were not disappointed and loved the coziness of the fireplace, the mural and the affordable happy hour offerings. We could get some nibbles for $7 and the others in our group who had a better appetite got larger... More

Im sure most people have only heard of this place and visited because you read it was once upon a time owned by Clint Eastwood. Its just a very simple bar type place. Simple menu, nothing fancy I had the Ribs, they were pretty good, nothing WOW about them, just solid. There is nothing wrong with the place, the service... More

Nothing bad to report- were very accommodating to our larger party wanting to sit outside. Yummy drinks, large portions and helpful staff. Might have been more attentive to us but we were enjoying ourselves and relaxing, and they were accommodating that, so we were lucky. Reasonable prices for the size and quality of food. Would return~!

We decided to stop in for what we thought would be a quick lunch since it was already 2:00 PM and they had very few customers. After being seated, our order was taken and our drinks promptly brought. But 20 minutes later, still no food. We asked and then we were served but they had forgotten the BBQ sauce. When... More

you grew up putting a pencil, stick or long stemmed blade of grass in the corner of your mouth, pretended that is was a cigar, squinted, and tried to emulate Clint Eastwood. Good food, cool history even though Clint has sold his interest. Service was good and the food was fine. But, now I get to say that I ate... More

Well sign posted but down a small alley this is a great place. Still owned by former Mayor Clint it has a small Pub/Bar which is all wooden and quaint - with some great local beers - then a wonderful open eating dinning area as well as an enclosed more restaurant like area - foo d is really good. Have... More

I frequent the Monterey area, but have never visited Hog's Breath Inn until this week. I hear it changed ownership fr Clint Eastwood to someone else in the last couple of years. On the Saturday mid-afternoon (2:30pm) when we visited, only appetisers were being served. No salads or soups were available. The choices were your typical bar menu items: sliders,... More

Booked a reservation for my boyfriends birthday ahead of time (they said over the phone that they would do something special for his birthday and I guess they forgot) This is our second time coming here, the first time was September 2015 and it was good then. Unfortunately this time they put us right next to the kitchen at the... More

The legend of Carmel. Formerly owned by Clint Eastwood, he still owns the building-who knows when he will stop by? Kept intact to keep the charm that is the cozy Carmel of yesteryear.
