We wanted to book a restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday whilst we were staying near Carmel. After spending some time reading various restaurant reviews I decided that the Flyish Fish would be a good choice. By the time we booked there were only tables available at 5.30 or 8.30. (It was a Saturday night in November.) We decided that... More

We came here for dinner on a Saturday night early November and we were a bit disappointed. Perhaps we had our expectations set too high from the reviews on tripadvisor. We have read reviews that the restaurant is an authentic Japanese restaurant and the seafood was fresh. Seafood was fresh - there is no doubt about that but this restaurant... More

Do you ever have one of those meals and your spouse orders the best courses and yours are disappointing? Well, that was our experience at this restaurant. We started with the panko crusted calamari. It was okay and pretty basic. I ordered a salad and the dressing was way too salty. My husband ordered the shrimp curry soup and it... More

Had a fantastic meal in this cosy restaurant - we booked from our hotel earlier in the evening and were lucky to get a table. Lovely ambiance and lighting - located downstairs. Both service and food were excellent. We especially enjoyed the Joullian Sauvignon Blanc (and spent the rest of our trip looking to buy some to take home!) Would... More

Absolutely wonderful! The atmosphere, service and especially the food are all exceptional. We had a booth in the back that was a little secluded – cozy for sitting with friends or a significant other. The wine list had a great selection of bottles and half bottles and the food was awesome. We had the spring rolls to start, which had... More

Exquisite tasty and creative dishes. Service was very pleasant, although entree took more than 30 minutes to arrive. One complaint is the temperature of the room. We found it unpleasantly warm. This could keep us from returning, so I hope they do something about it. And the kitchen probably needs to prepare for busy nights, or at least do something... More

The staff couldn't have been nicer and the food was excellent. I had the Sea Bass and my wife had Halibut and both were very good.

Amazing food, great atmosphere and friendly attentive service--what more could one ask for when dining out? This will be a 'don't miss' place when we are in the area!
