Their food is great with lots of selections. The atmosphere is dark and romantic and has an Asian flair. We will definitely go back.

Had dinner at Flying Fish 8/16. We were a total of 6 people. The seafood was outstanding.....the best meal we had while in Carmel. Outstanding waiter who was knowledgeable and very available without being obtrusive. Small restaurant which is the charming part of Carmel. I highly recommend this restaurant!! Word of caution,....I made a reservation on Open Table. Arrived at... More

This is an excellent japanese/seafood restaurant in carmel. Reasonable prices (compared to other Californian restaurants) and great food, with great flavour! We loved our dishes, including their complimentary entree! I would definitely go back and recommend it!

We stayed 5 nights in Carmel and partook from the local restaurant scene every night. Never had a bad meal. Never had what we'd rate as a great meal. Our dinner at the Flying Fish Grill was our favorite. The sesame crusted salmon was done to perfection and the halibut - poached in parchment paper - was a hit as... More

Had an 8:00 pm reservation and at 8:10, we were offered to wait for another 15 minutes with a drink on the house.. Bad enough this basement smelled of stinky fish, we walked out.. We are Carmel regulars and love the restaurants in this amazing town- decided to shake it up tonight but it was a bad move. Go to... More

Absolutely loved the food! Had duck breast - it was totally delicious, as were the side accoutrements! We split the hot fudge sundae which was just ok - but my husband had the halibut which was delicious! The bottle of Sauvignon Blanc was great and very reasonably priced. The waitress was lovely and very attentive. A wonderful experience.

A business client suggested this restaurant. It is tucked away in one of the buildings off Ocean. The fish dishes are fabulous !! Nice selections of wine by the glass as well. Great desserts!! I would return.

The menu looked good - and the greeter was very friendly. The servers were very pleasant and were willing to give advice on the fresh catch section This is where the problems started to occur. My wife ordered the Halibut - which was meant to be fresh. The fish had no texture - I tasted it too. To my palate... More
