This charming Carmel gem is a seafood lover's delight!! We started with the sautéed edamame and calamari and LOVED the surprise "chips and salsa"....ginger spiked tomato salsa and crispy pastry. We four each chose a different fish entree and raved about each.

We were 4 seniors with small appetites so we ordered from the appetizer menu. The California tower was superb. The salmon was fresh and well prepared as were the fried oysters. Great waitress and service. It was a bit noisy for those of us who don't hear well.

The food here was okay but the ambience was poor. The seating is in booths with dark wood sides which exacerbate the very dim lighting. The service was reasonable but rather falsely friendly as we found in other local restaurants. Would not wish to return.

Mind boggling that this tired 'ol classic Carmel joint rates the lofty reviews it gets. While the Host/Chef Owners are gracious and warm, this place is existing on fumes from their '80's hey day. As this asian inspired menu does bring some decent dishes, the lack of cleanliness and upkeep of this dark and dingy restarant is palpable. The men's... More

Great restaurant with a nice atmosphere. We only had the main courses, as we were not too hungry but the appetizers looked great too. RARE PEPPERED AHI and ALMOND SEABASS, which were very good. The deserts were great - Banana sundae and a Creme brulee. Service was very good too.

Cozy place with great service and food. Really enjoyed the fried wonton and salsa mix. The Almond crusted Halibut was excellent. Will certainly go back.

Enjoyed terrific meal at Flying Fish Grill last weekend. Restaurant has great vibe, including wonderful server and friendly owner. Rare tuna main course was delicious, as was ice cream sundae dessert.

We stopped in Carmel for my birthday dinner while doing the Pacific Coast highway 101. I was in the mood for fish and the Flying Fish Grill was open when we arrived (American restaurants usually close very early, around 21h ). The food and service were great - they somehow understood it was my birthday and sang me Happy birthday... More
