Selected because it was listed as #2 in the area on trip adviser. Wife had black bean crusted halibut and I had almond crusted sea bass, seen in the photo. Both were superb and fresh. Started with the seafood tower, an innovative take on sushi. Service went beyond expectations.

This restaurant has been the big surprise of our road trip. We weren't expecting much as we'd been told it was underneath 'a mall'. I guess a mall in Carmel is very different to the one I'd imagined. You go down a few steps into an intimate wooden cladded den. There were a queue of people waiting for tables (always... More

We went to the Flying Fish Grill on the basis of a recommendation by our hotel and were disappointed. We'd booked a table but still had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Apart from the tuna tartare the food was pretty underwhelming, the sea bass wasn't even fresh. The wine and the waitress serving us were the only other... More

Our hotel recommended the Flying Fish Grill for Seafood and we were very impressed. The location is a bit hidden and you would not expect a top restaurant there, but the food was excellent and the service very attentive. Well worth a visit if you are in Carmel

Outstanding restaurant and even better service. We got lost driving there and a staff member guided us on the phone, even standing out in the middle of the street, locating us. Food was fabulous from appetizer to main courses. Too full for dessert we decided to pass but our server brought us s sampling of two desserts to try, on... More

We had just flown in from the east coast on Labor Day Weekend. Several places said no availability but Flying Fish Grill were happy to seat us if we came a little earlier than we planned. The owners were there and came by several times. The server was attentive. Now the food...we could not stop smiling. The steamed artichoke was tender... More
