Asian fusion and decor. We enjoyed a breakfast which was very well presented, flavorful and healthy portioned. Great attentive service. If you are present when the bar is open, make sure to try the Surfer's Rx drink. It was created here.

We were there over a holiday weekend so the line was long for lunch but it was well worth the wait. It is always a good sign when you see people lining up outside a restaurant. The menu offers quite a variety with an Asian twist, specifically Korean influence. We really wanted to try all of the following: tofu soup, kimchi fried rice but we settled on grilled spicy pork. It was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. My husband had soup (lobster bisque) and sandwich (BLT + avocado) combo and it was also delicious. Everything was fresh with perfect healthy portion. A side dish was fresh fruits including some papaya and it was ripe and so sweet. The place was bright and very pretty. Price is quite reasonable. Service was a bit slow but everyone was working hard and the place was just so busy with all the tourists! We wanted to go back for dinner and were sad that we ran out of time. Will definitely return the next time we are in town.

My husband and I were with another couple and we really enjoyed our dinner at Pangaea Grill! I ordered the Sand Dabs with the lemon caper sauce. They were breaded and pan fried. They were very light and tasty! The vegetables were quite fresh and good. My husband chose the Dumpling Soup and said it was very good! It had a beef and pork broth, pork and chicken dumplings, egg drop and seaweed that was toasted and topped with kimchee. He was not hungry when he finished it! I can not remember what our hosts ordered, but they have been here numerous times. The service was excellent and our server was most helpful and attentive. I enjoyed the beautiful artwork throughout the restaurant! Prices were very reasonable. Next time we visit Carmel, we will return to Pangaea Grill!

New ways to rip off the customer: charge 3.5% to use a credit card. This is apparently disclosed somewhere on the menu (the proverbial “fine print”), though I didn’t see it and I suspect the vast majority of customers don’t notice it. If you’re going to rip off customers, the least you could do is to make it clear and let them know up front, i.e. before they get to the restaurant. They way, if they want to pay cash, they can come prepared. Interestingly, the charge is applied to your check BEFORE you even indicate your intention to pay with a credit (or debit) card — the restaurant obviously knows that virtually everyone pays with credit cards these days. The restaurant is not cheap — how many people walk around with hundreds of dollars of cash in their pockets? I’d also point out that the restaurant pays LESS than 3.5% to visa — thus, the restaurant is making an additional profit when customers pay by credit card. This is a tourist area, and I’m sure they count on the fact that many customers are simply passing through, and thus the restaurant is less dependent on repeat customers than restaurants in a less touristy area. I would NEVER return to this restaurant, and I encourage you to avoid them until they change their dishonest, shameful ways. The only way to put an end to ridiculous fees and policies like this is to vote with your feet and dine elsewhere.

There are many great restaurants in Carmel, skip this place. Everything we ordered was not good. Clam chowder was full of big chunks of potatoes and chewy clams. We tried the lettuce wraps which, if you are at all familiar with lettuce wraps, will not be what you expect. They’re served with romaine and the chicken is in larger pieces and the sauce just runs out. They were very kind and took this off the bill. We saw some other food come out and we’re too scared to order it so we went with the cheese plate which was good. The staff were SO lovely, maybe we had an off night. Also, not dog friendly.

Truly mediocre good and truly shambolic service. Mashed potato and green beans with everything. Waiter who announced his name cheerily then forgot to bring menus, ester, drinks. Signature cocktail tasted of ready mix. So disappointing

The one thing I love about websites like this is it gives customers a platform to warn other customers. My family and I visited this restaurant for my husbands birthday. Be cautious when ordering the sunset dinner. The restaurant tried to up-charge us almost $80 because the waiter “forgot” we ordered off that menu. His words exactly. The manager did take off $60 but refused to take off the extra charge for the soup and salad. Then when I posted an honest review online her response called me bitchy and that she basically felt sorry for my minor children. I think her exact words were “god bless them.” I hope she treats her hard working employees better than she does customers. For so many companies hurting after COVID spend your money elsewhere. The food wasn’t even that good. Over salted, soggy, and a creme brûlée that was burnt.

Lovely restaurant centrally located in beautiful Carmel. We visited for brunch and were impressed with the range of food (and drinks) on the menu. Staff were amazing - friendly and attentive. Prices were reasonable and food tasty. Would recommend and wish we had time to visit for dinner!

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at this restaurant while on vacation. Our first time visiting Carmel and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We ordered appetizers and grilled salmon and filet mignon and everything was delicious. I tried a local white wine that I enjoyed. Our waiter was very helpful and we enjoyed talking to him as well. Highly recommend you won’t be disappointed!

We were excited to come back to this restaurant on our way back to the Bay Area. We did not have reservations but the wait time for a table was not bad - 20 minutes. It was very cold outside (being January) so we asked for a table inside. This is my only negative about this place as there was absolutely NO and I mean NO social distancing. We were practically sitting on top of the next patrons next to us. The food was simply amazing as it has been in the past. We started with the Soup and Salad which was beautifully presented. We then ordered the Ahi Tuna Poke and Tempura Sand Dabs both of which were absolutely delicious. We also had a bottle of the Luli Sauvingon Blanc which was a nice refreshing lunch wine, The service was excellent (like before) and the restaurant inside was beautiful. I took away 1 star because there was NO social distancing in the restaurant at all. I felt uncomfortable during the entire time that we spent in the restaurant. I would have sat outside but I asked a couple sitting outside how it was and they said "it's better than sitting inside close to all of those people". It was pretty cold outside. Parking is always a nightmare there so you just have to accept that you are going to drive around for an endless amount of time to find a space. All in all, this is still a great restaurant that has delicious food.

This was probably my favorite place in Carmel during our weekend stay. I would highly recommend eating here if you can and make a reservation if possible (outdoor and indoor options offered). This place had a mixture of different dishes that ranged from Asian to Italian. We started off with chicken wings which were really flavorful. Chicken park, shrimp and scallops, and the Kalbi were what we ordered for our main dishes as well as kimchi fried rice to share. The Kimchi fried rice I think is one of their main and most popular dishes so it’s worth ordering! Kimchi is not as strong and is the perfect amount. The Kalbi was the dish I ordered which was cooked well and flavorful, almost as good as if I went to a Korean restaurant. The dish was served with kimchi, rice, and some vegetables. Overall, highly recommend trying this place out while in Carmel! Definitely would go back!

I am very much one who sticks to what is familiar and was very pleased with the decision to have dinner at pangea grill. I saw a pic of the flank steak and knew that I had to have that dish. Great choice! Everything was wonderful about this dish: the potatoes, vegetables, and definitely the steak. Yum! My wife had the grilled chicken with artichokes. She loved it as well. Both dishes were nicely proportioned and definitely left full (but not stuffed). I almost forgot the chocolate cake. I'm more of the meat and potatoes guy, but this chocolate cake was GOOD! We wanted to try the secret dessert item on the menu, but decided on the chocolate cake instead. Everyone was very welcoming. Both hostesses were wonderful. Our waiter was REAL cool! He provided us with good options to help us make a decision on which dish we should go for. Definitely recommend you stop by and check out this restaurant whenever you are in Carmel.

The food tasted just ok, nothing impressive. Was looking forward to dining here based on reviews but was expecting something better. The fried foods were greasy, but not the fries, but those were slightly tough coated I think because of how they are cooked? Not sure how to explain it. The water had that weird taste to it. But nothing tasted really good? :( One of the two bathrooms had a sign on the faucet that said not to use due to sensitive plumbing, and to use hand sanitizer on the sink, so had to use the other bathroom to wash my hands. Good thing there wasn’t a lot of people and could get in the second one fairly quickly, but it would have been better just to make it unavailable instead.

Salmon and sides were excellent. My wife had San dabs and thought they were excellent also. We had ordered the early bird special and had lemon cheesecake wedges included for dessert. We enjoy a meal there during every trip to Carmel.

Came on a Saturday lunch, short wait time to seat 2 and our stroller, baby outside. Killer bloody Mary was delicious with several food items served with the drink. Calamari was a great complement for this. The chicken vegetable soup was delicious on a chilly day. The chicken sandwich was also pretty delicious and the fries were crisp and well cooked. Hostess and waiter were very friendly and accommodating.
