Nice ethnic restaurant. Felt like we had been transported to another country. Saw two performances of ethnic music put on by the staff who had many patrons up dancing and clapping. Fun meal! Owner attentive and came over twice to see if we were enjoying our meal. Prices were reasonable for Carmel. Call several weeks in advance for reservations.

Fresh food. Attentive staff. Tightly run ship. These guys are very well organized. They have to be because the word is out the food is perfect. They don't take lunch reservations. Put your name in and give them your cell phone number. Stroll through surrounding shops or go for a coffee until they call. The menu is short a sweet.... More

This was recommended to us by the BW where we stayed in Carmel. The food was excellent, the owners were personal and the staff all helped out with everyone. I think this makes such a difference where everyone takes care of everyone. From the fresh bread with Balsamic and Olive oil, to the complementary piece of Baklava, everything tasted great... More

Although the hubby is not a great fan of mediterranean cuisine, I was able to talk him into giving Demetra a try after reading all of the great TripAdvisor reviews. They place is very small and hopping at all times, so I strongly recommend reservations. We shared the tzaziki with pita appetizer. The pita is obviously made in-house and is... More

Outstanding service and food, great atmosphere, fun! Like being on the Mediterranean coast. The cook came out to sing with the servers, everyone joins in and has a great time! Don't miss it!

We started with the appetizer sampler platter which had the best stuffed grape leaves I have ever had along with spanakopita, hummus, tziazik and baba ghanoug. All were remarkable. After all that we shared the Greek combination platter of chicken kabob and gyro. Such wonderfully seasoned meet that melted in your mouth. Some of the best Mediterranean food!

Had to book our table in advance, could hardly get in the place it was so full of people... On a Tuesday! . Food plentiful and authentic Mediterranean. Chef came out to sing half way through evening! Fun night, I can see why it's so popular!

Went to this quaint little cafe in Carmel when my daughter and I were doing a road trip down PCH #1 for several days over Mother's Day Weekend. It was recommended by the bed and breakfast we were staying at. Great atmosphere. Quite entertaining with the staff serenading us during the meal time. Everyone felt a part of the entertainment.... Great experience. Took us three tries to get in but worth the effort. After our second attempt the owner assured us a table for the following night. When we arrived we were greeted like long lost family. I have never felt more welcomed in a restaurant anywhere in the world. The atmosphere and food were terrific. Only wish it hadn't... More

Food was well-prepared and quite filling, and the owner and staff were very attentive. There were a number of vegetarian entrees to choose from, which satisfied my vegan friend and myself. We were treated to a small baklava dessert at the end, which was added to my feeling that this was one of the friendliest restaurants I have visited.
