This was a very unexpected find. Small place but we seated quickly. It was a Tuesday night. Good variety of table configurations so they can accommodate and adjust for the clientele. Dametra Cafe was a random choice that looked casual enough. We were greeted well and felt very welcome and comfortable. The staff was very helpful in the selections and... More

We arrived at 12:15 on a Tuesday and there were only 3 other tables occupied. By the time we left, the place was packed so plan accordingly. Menu carries nice variety of Mediterranean dishes - all of which are pretty standard fare, nothing inventive. I ordered the falafel wrap but without the wrap as I am gluten free and without... More

We heard this was a good place for lunch so stopped by around 2pm and were lucky to get a table by the window. The place was packed and the food others were eating looked great. I have a gluten and dairy allergy and was able to get a salad with grilled chicken that was delicious. The red wine was... More

Fabulous fresh food and a great lively atmosphere. We waited a bit for a table on a Saturday night but did not mind. We stuck with the Greek food although there are various choices. We were pleasantly surprised when the staff broke out into song with instruments mid meal. The whole restaurant was enjoying the song. Great location in the... More

So I'm here on the Gold Coast of Central California. Carmel by the Sea is beautiful and graced by art galleries, home brewed coffee shops and wonderful eateries. Last night we went to Demetria a great little Greek restaurant that was filled with the decor of being at a seaside location in the homeland . Food was excellent with lamb... More

On a day trip to Carmel, we stumbled across this small restaurant whilst searching for a late lunch spot. We had to wait 5 minutes for a table to become free; I suspect if we'd arrived a little earlier, the wait would have been longer due to it's small size and (obvious) popularity. The food was fantastic, which was complimented... More

We popped in hoping for a quick meal. The service was attentive and wonderful. The food was fantastic, authentic, oh so yummy! Then out of nowhere entertainment! A staff member came out from somewhere and strolled about singing to the guests. We didn't want to leave.

This little restaurant was a great find. We expected it to be so so as it's right in the center of Carmel but our lunch was delicious! The bread was crusty and warm, the Greek Salad, smallish but great dressing and the mussels and clams in a really nice broth. We even liked the faux Mediterranean terra cotta mural ambience... More

We did a quick trip to Carmel before a conference up north and was looking for a great quaint place to have a late lunch. Dametra was perfect, great service with an incredible ambiance. The Mediterranean food was excellent and then to top it off they had a a couple of songs for entertainment with a sitar and bongos. A... More

The restaurant is cozy and the service was fine, but, I don't feel that the food was as good as most of the reviews that I have read.
