Great Breakfast Choice

We were looking for a classic Carlsbad breakfast place and found it at Don's. Great food, excellent service even with the Covid restrictions. The staff was very nice and eager to help. They have several options for eggs benedict, and their food was fresh and delicious. We highly recommend Don's Country Kitchen.

Breakfast was highly recommended after going on a north county biscuit and gravy challenge of 10 different establishments. Had the Don's stuffed hash browns with my wife, and an order of biscuits an gravy, was not disappointed !!! in the running for first place !!!

A great find!

We were in Carlsbad for the weekend and was driving around looking for a place to have breakfast, saw Don’s Country Kitchen, so we stopped and I’m glad we did! Service was excellent and the food was very good. I’m had an omelette and my husband had biscuits and gravy. We were both very pleased. The coffee was good too! We will definitely be back whenever we are in town.

Slightly off the main drag but easy to find. A place where the locals go to eat. Busy but not too long a wait. ...about 15 minutes. Great friendly service. Huge plate full of food.

Fantastic family run business!!

We just happened to find this place while visiting family. The food was GREAT, affordable, and quickly served. This is a small diner, but we didn't have to wait and thought the good food was worth it. Nice to see a family run business thriving!!

Really good breakfast spot. Pretty small place and got crowded very quickly. There was a line to get in the place after we got there. Plenty of food and friendly service.

A Small Place, Big on Taste

It's a small family business that serves up very good food and a friendly atmosphere. Our wait person, Fernando, was quietly efficient and welcoming. The food was fresh and delicious, especially the homemade soup of the day.

Very Good Place for Lunch

We happened upon Don’s when looking at the plethora of lunch establishments in the area. The staff members are super friendly and professional and my Chicken Quesadillas lunch was fantastic. I believe that the salsa was house made, but I’m sure that the ingredients were fresh. My wife’s California Turkey Burger hit the spot.

Best breakfast

Delicious food and great, friendly service in a relaxed open air environment. My husband got a Bloody Mary and stuffed hash browns which he was very happy with. I got the California omelette and a breakfast cocktail (maybe called Don’s sunrise). I was also super pleased with my meal. I especially loved the fresh salsa that paired perfectly with my omelette. Portion sizes were big so come hungry.

Food is excellent! Ample servings and quick, friendly service. The next best thing to an old-fashioned Jersey Diner for breakfast! This place is always busy and once you eat here you’ll know why.

Basic breakfast and lunch diner with plenty of choices at very reasonable prices including daily specials and senior specials. Fluffy pancakes, large slices of bacon, and eggs done the way we like em. Bottomless coffee. Place is old and could use a deep cleaning. Parking can be problematic at times. Old donut shop next store has the best donuts in town!
