Thé ocean view is gorgeous. Our food was really good. Our servers were very nice but there seemed to be some inexperienced staff that gave our experience a few hiccups. I will definitely come back!

Wait staff - top notch, convivial, and knowledgeable!! Thanks for recommending the "Pina Clearada" cocktail :-) Food - we went for dinner and ordered the shareables; the portions were definitely sufficient for sharing between two people. Flavorful and nicely plated. We ate indoors, although there...are outdoor areas too. My overall impression is that the upscale ambiance and service of Chandler's suitably accompanies the upscale and quiet luxury ambiance projected by the Cape Rey hotel. While it is essentially a bar-and-grill, albeit one that is elevated, one is prompted to be on best behavior upon entering. Perfect venue for the genteel crowd, not so much for the rowdy ragtags :-)More
Thank you for sharing your wonderful review. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed food and drinks with us. We do hope to have you dine with us again the next time you are in town. Safe travels.
The Chandler is a hidden gem! It's located inside the Hilton resort and spa. The restaurant has "to go" orders available only during this COVID 19 Purple tier in San Diego. We placed our order and enjoyed our bucket of champagne while waiting for breakfast....The breakfast burrito and the shrimp and lobters eggs Benedict were delicious! No crowds to worry about.More

I stayed at Cape Rey in the middle of October and had a wonderful dinner at Chandlers with my son and friend. Most memorable was the service. I wish I could remember this young man's name but he was excellent. He knew every item on...the menu and was friendly and professional. I had the shrimp and lobster tacos which were great. My son had the ahi tuna with sticky cocoanut rice and he loved it. We also enjoyed the short rib flat bread as an appetizer - excellent as well. Nice dining experience. I didn't feel like they were trying to rush us out. Of course we had a beautiful view of the ocean.More

We are staying at this Hilton hotel and decided to eat there out of convenience. We arrived early on Tuesday and decided to have lunch there. They have placemats on the tables and mine obviously had old food on it and there was something sticky...on the table. They don’t pick up the placemats when they clean the tables and leave the extra setups on the table which I find unacceptable. I have never eaten anywhere where they leave the extra utensils. This is flu season and Corona virus is happening now. This is not a good way to clean up after guests. The food was good enough but the service was lacking. It took a long time to be acknowledged after we sat down and the restaurant was almost empty. Once our waiter figured out we were there he was OK. We are diamond members so get complimentary brunch. We went down yesterday and the hostess who was on the phone conducting business totally ignored us for at least five minutes. Hello, how about an acknowledgement by holding up a finger or something. Very rude. A waiter finally seated us and took care of us. The breakfast buffet is OK, nothing exceptional. Fresh fruit is good however; and honeydew was actually ripe! There seemed to be confusion on how to make out the checks with credit, first one got a 0.00 check. The check yesterday looked like$23.50 was charged to the room but the waiter assured us this is not the case. Consistency is good. We like being able to take advantage of the diamond perks but this was discouraging. The nicest person we met was the busboy. I have no idea who waited on us because no one introduced themselves. Lot’s of room for improvement on the cleaning and service. If you can overlook this stuff the food is OK. The views are good!More
Marty, thank you for sharing your experience at Chandler's. We sincerely apologize for the lack of service you received. Please know that it is unacceptable and we will be following up with our team to make the appropriate improvements. We do hope that you will...More
I was here with some colleagues while visiting Carlsbad. The location was great with a good view of the sunset. Our server, Brock, was so friendly and accommodating and the food was amazing. We had the lobster and shrimp nachos and heirloom tomato burrata and...it all tasted amazing. The nachos was by far the best ones I had in my life. I had the seafood linguine as the main and it was another success but unfortunately I was too full from the starters to be able to finish it. I can’t wait to go back to Carlsbad to visit again. I only wish they would open a restaurant in the UK so I could experience the food again soonMore

We loved that this hotel had a good restaurant to dine in. After long travels on several occasions we dined here. The service both times were excellent. The food is quite good which surprised me since most hotel restaurants have mediocre food. The fish tacos...were good, we also had the sirloin with mashed potatoes one evening. They have a wonderful wine selection as well. We did have dessert one evening, I would recommend passing on the dessert. You could definitely tell it was not freshly made, processed, fresh frozen.More

We were staying at the resort and went for Happy Hour our second night there. The drinks were great and the appetizers were amazing! We especially enjoyed the Shrimp Tacos and the Shrimp and Lobster Nachos.
Thank you kindly for your review. We will pass along your praises to our culinary team. We do hope to have you dine with us again very soon.
The views from here are incredible-- go for sunset. The food is good. Decent short wine list. Enjoyed live music on a Friday night.

Had this poolside, was full of fresh veggies and a delicious hummus. Food/Drinks were fairly priced for the pool!
Thank you for your outstanding review. We look forward to your return.
My husband and I came here for dinner on the last night of our baby-moon trip and it was absolutely amazing! I would like to give a shout out to Brock (our server) who really made the night excellent! He gave us lots of helpful...menu info, was lovely and funny and after listening to our ideas, he recommended both of our entrees! We had the bacon + blue burger and the lobster and rock shrimp tacos (shared both)! I literally couldn't stop talking about this meal for weeks.. SO yummy, filling, reasonably priced, and such great service. I've never seen such a stuffed taco, and the burger was one of the best ever. After our meal we sat and relaxed by the outdoor fire for a while until I could waddle back to our room, what a gorgeous evening. Thanks again Brock =]More
Thank you for your outstanding review. We are so happy to hear you had such a wonderful evening at Chandler''s and at the firepit. We will pass along your compliments to Brock. We do hope you will visit us again very soon.
Stayed here recently on a business trip. The service is very good, the food is OK, and the drinks are watered down - and expensive. Nice view from the outside seating area, but other than that this place is very ordinary. Had lobster and shrimp...tacos for dinner one night - that was good and reasonably priced. So it’s fine for a hotel restaurant and bar, but don’t go out of your way to eat here when in the area.More

layout appears more like coffee shop with a bar than a dinner place outside seating limited dinner menu breakfast a bit pricey valet charge to park for dinner most with casual dress

The Aki Poke and the Heirloom Tomato + Burrata appetizers were outstanding. So was the King Salmon entree. Service was not very good. Beautiful views of the ocean sunset.
