A group of us ordered take out and everyone was happy with their meals. My husband and I both ordered the Flying Pig Ramen and it was quite good. We split an order of Pork Belly Buns and we really should have each had an...order because they were so tasty that neither of us wanted to share, we both wanted the whole order. Will definitely eat here again.More

This was a small ramen and bun place in Carlsbad Village. It was located in the middle of two buildings with a roof overhead so it was a little bit in and outdoors. There was limited seating but we did not have to wait. The...menu was simple with ramen and buns. For a couple bucks more we got the ramen and appetizer combo and separately ordered the Ube Panda buns for dessert. Our appetizers came out first and I enjoyed my kurobota pork sausage with mustard and siracha and grilled onions, pickles. The sausage was a bit small inside the bun though. My coworker liked his vegetarian potstickers. I slurped up the Fat Duck Ramen. It came with four pieces of duck breast, bok choy and green onions. The noodles were ok but the broth was rich and quite good. The duck was a nice change from the typical char shu. The dessert buns were delivered hot to us after we finished off our ramen bowls. There was a lot of ube filing and it was had a nice sweet ube taste. Service overall was good but a little slow when we lost track of our original waiter for some reason.More

My husband and I liked the ambience of the restaurant - very modern and beautiful space. We shared a plate of sushi - appetizer and both had vegan ramen. The waitress was very attentive. Food was delicious. Glad we stopped by and hope to return...in the future when/if in the area.More

We try to come and get the limited time specialty buns at least once a month. They're usually so adorable and delicious! I also like the Flying Pig ramen (brussel sprouts!) and the regular bao buns.

The buns were good. The ramen not my cup of tea. You'll have it for yourself. Pictures are below....

Cute animal buns with various fillings were a hit with the kids. Chicken teriyaki was heavy on the teriyaki and the chicken was dry. No veggies or anything, just sliced chicken on teriyaki sauced rice. Ramen and udon were delicious but a bit on the...oily side. Both were minimalist, having caramelized onions or something small and flavorful. There are a lot of options for add-ons but at $1+ each, it begins to cost a lot to have things that other ramen/udon places include. Service was excellent, the woman at the front was friendly and greeted us as we arrived and left. Our waiter was nice and efficient. Family friendly, our waiter offered the kids their choice of different color chopsticks helpers - plastic clips that keep the chopsticks together - on a tray! Cut rolls were large but heavy on sauces/dressings. The salmon skin roll was disappointing. Still, we would definitely return to try other items on the menu! We found street parking nearby.More

Harumama is a space nestled between two other Japanese eateries. It is very cute and well-appointment, but tiny! Since they are so small, and there is typically a wait. Their buns are amazing--so cute and yummy too. My favorite was the savory Tortoro bun. It...was almost too cute to eat, but was extremely taste since it was stuffed with some curry minced beef with carrots and shiitake.More

This restaurant is one of three all hooked together. The decor is wonderful. The bao buns are very playful done as animals. The pork bun was a pig and very good. We had the red bean bun too. They also have bao served like tacos...with different fillings. The crispy shrimp was very good. The duck was 70 percent unrendered fat and was not enjoyed. I like that they serve two pieces with everything so great to share.More
