I wolfed everything I bought down so fast, I didn’t even think to take any photos! The mixed berry cronut was so flaky and delicious. But the piece de resistance was the chocolate donut topped with coconut!!! So moist so absolutely decadent!! Glad I’m leaving...town in a few days. That place is my new addictionMore

I had a non-vegan coffee cake muffin and a ham and cheese croissant. Both were delicious. The muffin was just sweet enough and the sugar crumb was also light. It was perfect for me, but much less sweet and a lesser crumb than others might...expect. The pastry portion of the croissant reminded me, and it's absolutely not a dig, of the Pilsbury crescent rolls they used (or maybe still) sell in the dairy section of the supermarket. It was wonderfully buttery with great texture. It isn't like your traditional croissant from a laminated dough perspective, but as I sit here without one in front of me I wish I would have ordered two. The case had a great variety of good looking choices, though the bagels weren't appealing to my eye. I recommend this spot to wheat-free folk and non-wheat-free folk. Thanks for the tasty items. **Side-note for people who complain about the prices, which I thought were very reasonable... Wheat is cheap, non-wheat is not. Wheat is (relatively) easy to work with, non-wheat is not. Higher quality, higher skill, higher cost. You get what you pay for and this spot seemed very much worth it to me. I paid $9 total for a good sized muffin and medium sized croissant. **More

My girlfriend is a coeliac so we always struggle to find places that accommodate this but when I saw this place would be on our route to Santa Cruz I'm glad we stopped by. Great staff and great products can't fault them at all.

I preordered some goodies for my husband and to take home after a weekend stay at the Inn at Depot Hill. With both of us being gluten free due to medical issues, we were thrilled to find a place that specialized in what we wanted...which is hard to find when you have to be gluten free. The choices were abundant and the staff is stellar. Thank you to Melinda and your staff for helping us find new options when some of the items we ordered were unavailable. I wish we had something like this bakery in Santa Maria, but until we do we will be sure to return to Melinda's whenever we are visiting Capitola in the future.More

This charming little bakery is easy to find between Brommer and Capitola Ave on 41st Ave. Hope you come and visit them as I want them to stay in business! Thanks

Gluten free diets present with challenges when attempting to find local establishments who specialize in GF choices. Melinda's does a great job with roll-ups, stuffed breads, and bagels. That's where it stops. The cookies, muffins, donuts are NOT good products and are over sweetened or...too chewy. The baked breads are dry and dense, don't waste your time with them. Service is varied: anywhere from a cheery smile to snobbiness and it is usually slow. If the establishment has 3+ customers, the cashier can take a long time to get to you and the other employees who are working in the back do not pitch in to assist. Overpriced; are you kidding me, $3 for ONE bagel.More

What is nice about Melinda's Gluten Free is that gluten free and dairy free baked goods abound. This is wonderful for the parent of a gfdf child who just wants to imbibe just like everyone else. And guess what? It tastes good too!

I got a nice looking honey oat bread and it was dense and heavy. Decent taste, but an unexpected dense consistency. I also tried a chocolate donut and it was pretty good, but $3.50 is way too much for a single donut.

How delighted we were to find this across the street from our hotel in Capitola, CA! Dedicated gf bakery with a made-fresh daily case of gf treats, both sweet and savory. Breakfast and lunch served on site. Custom cakes available to order. So happy to...find this.More

This bakery has the most delicious peach scones. The melding of flavors was divine. The counter person was friendly and felt free to give his opinions which I greatly appreciated. Though it was right across the street from my hotel, I wouldn't have found it...except for the Chamber of Commerce recommending it to me!More

My kids, who are not gluten free, love the donuts and cheesy roll. I loved everything I've tried. The breakfast croissant and chocolate donuts are awesome.

I won't normally give a review unless I have been somewhere three or more times, depending on the experience of course.... that said: This place is wonderful! (STAR UPDATE PENDING as we have not tried everything yet or they were out). First on my next...visit will be a Savory Roll. They were all out of the bacon cheddar. They actually have croissants too. They make their own loaves, which I will try soon as well and update. It has been difficult for the years I have been gluten free. It's a must for me, not a trend or for my vanity. I really don't eat baked goods anymore due to the lack of acceptable ingredients, sub-par consistency, or flavor. I am very excited to try more from here because Melinda's does it right!! We tried: German Chocolate with coconut-maple-walnut icing Chocolate with vanilla icing Cinnamon Roll* and some samples I don't recall but still delicious *the cinnamon roll was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. We both kept saying "wow" with each bite. Texture was perfect. If you're gluten-free (especially if not and skeptical) try this place. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised. The coffee is good as well. Enjoy ~ABCMore
