We were looking for a place to stop for breakfast on our way to the beach. I remembered Gayle's from a previous visit, but couldn't remember the name. Google found it quickly when I searched "Capitola Bakery". I was amazed once we went in with the large selection of prepared breakfast foods in addition to the complete bakery. I had... More

We were headed our of town and decided to stop for a loaf of our favorite bread and something for breakfast. We had a Croissant with egg and bacon which we shared. It was O.K. but the croissant tasted stale, and crumbled as you took bites. We've had better which was a little disappointing for Gayle's.

Over the last 25 years, Gayle's has gone from a small bakery to a very busy restaurant with indoor seating for over 100. Our mid-morning visit saw about 5 persons per minute being served. (This is a "take-a-number", bus your own order to table format place, but it flows smoothly while crowded.) Huge selection of pastries, breads, sandwiches and breakfast/lunch... More

Our soccer team had a tournament at Carrillo college and needed lunch. This place was crazy busy but organized. We parked on the street as the lot was full. You get a number at the entrance and wait for them to call & display your number on the screen. You place your order with the kind staff. There is rotisserie... More
