Decent food. I had the filet and it was cooked right, which is a good thing. Wine was pretty good. Bacon-wrapped prawns as appetizers was really tasty. The service was good too. Can't complain. The setting was beautiful. On a river or something like that. Outside dining available. A cable car if you like for going up and down. Strange... More

My wife's birthday dinner, so I took her here. I have been here many times before, but her first. She loved this place. Great atmosphere and very good food. My only complaint was that the Blackened Lamb was a bit tough, which is why I could not give a 5 star rating. My wife ordered Beef Wellington, which was excellent.... More

Perched on the side of a bluff in dense green growth overlooking Soquel Creek is this big surprise, Shadowbrook. Invisible from Wharf Road but with abundant parking. Great scene. Give it a try. Quality of food and service is uneven. But the experience is well, worth your while, time, and money.

This is a busy, big box restaurant with a very unique setting and is quite beautiful. It was apparent from the moment of arrival that the hostess stand and wait staff were stressed. We were not greeted by an overwhelmed hostess staff. We watched as another diner approAched and was ignored though she was quite polite. Frankly they dissolved into... More

A number of years ago, I celebrated my birthday by dining with friends and loved ones at The Shadowbrook. I was blown away by the quality of the food, service, and ambiance. Returning in July, I was expecting the same high level of the above. I was not disappointed. For top quality food, knowledgeable servers (Shadowbrook uses team servers; everyone... More

This is a fun place to go. The walk down to the restaurant is rather lovely through the gardens and the building itself is quirky and interesting. The view over the river is also fun. The food was plentiful and the slow cooked pork rib was amazing. A decent wine list and good service rounded out a fun family evening

I used to go to this place as a kid with my family in the seventies. Forty years later my own family and I returned. It is such a special venue. Beautiful. The food is good. Not great. Could be - should be much better out of respect for the venue. With that said, my husband is a Master Chef... More

We visited with a group of friends to celebrate a co-worker's retirement. Everyone in our group was in awe of the beauty of the restaurant. I recommend walking the steps down into the restaurant and riding the funicular back up to fully take in the beauty of the grounds and get to enjoy the unique cable train experience. I would...
