Midway Cafe

This is located halfway to Paro Taktsang. Prices are high, to be expected. Lunch is buffet. Coffee is "all you can drink" with biscuits. Staffs very good and enjoyed their lunch on return from the monastry. Its a relief for the exhausted and u make some animal friends who wants a share of your meal.

This is a good place to have a rest when you walk up and there is no hurry because the Tiger Nest Temples close for lunch break at 1 pm for one hour. Or stop by when you are on your way back. The Cafeteria offers lunch buffet, but better take your snacks with you on the way - but... More

Mixed vegetables 7. Some types of pickles 8. Tea Either eat well before you start for the nest, or bring... More

A big enough area for a nice needed break on the ascend to the monastery. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The latter offer excellent views of the monastery in the distant height. The food is strictly only vegetarian but typical of Bhutan style. Plenty of hot coffee and tea available.

After a good hike... The cafeteria offers you a breath taking sight of the famous taksang monastery. They will serve you tea or lunch on your demand. It's well maintained and clean.

This cafe is located at the point many climbers to the Tiger's Nest Monastery actually stop. It takes about 60 - 90 minutes up a steep climb to get there. It gives you a good view of the monastery clinging to the opposite cliff, houses a cafe/ restaurant and provides (just about acceptable) toilets. There are tables inside and out.... More

Small, but overlooking Taktsang Monastery, it is a refreshing retreat to revitalize for the next trek of 1.5 hours. The pre-made tea with the buiscuits with refill of chilled water or few cold drinks is a must visit. A buffet lunch is also served with red rice and local curries - predominantly Veg food. Avoid the green chillis curry, as... More

No snacks unless stocks are available through pennies. Noodles to eat during meal time. Few biscuits with tea/coffee. A shop selling handicraft besides which is seldom open. It is nice place to rest after climbing 50% distance of tiger;s nest. Toilet facility is good. As hiking is steep, it is good to climb using ponny service unless you are very... More

We stopped off at the Cafeteria, we called it the tea house, on our way up and back to the Monastery. On the way up we enjoyed tea and biscuits and on the way down lunch was served. The views of the monastery are wonderful from the cafeteria, although I recommend taking the long way, the way you came in,... More
