Cute little shop done up to be a bit vintage and quirky. Lovely staff and food. Well presented and clean.

We stopped here while riding the Hauraki Rail Trail - the Spinach and Fetta Muffin was dried out and stale - it had been stored too long. The hamburger was basic and edible, made from packaged patty and cheese - the trays the food was served on and cutlery needed a good clean.

We stopped in for a cup of Tea and a Cup of Coffee and something to eat on the way to Thames. It's an old place 'done up' and looks promisingly clean. The tea was a teabag in a coffee cup filled with hot water from the espresso machine. "Did you want milk with that?" The tea drinker was not... More

A wonderful place in the middle of a hard day of cycling either to or from Paeroa and Thames. Very obliging and wonderful service. Stayed open just for us. Definitely rate it for any biker biking along the Hauraki Rail Trail.

My partner and I stayed in Hikutaia for 3 weeks and visited The Convenient Cow quite a few times. In fact, we were addicted. The ice-cream is delicious and the portions are very generous. Loved the desserts and the custard slice was huge and very nice. Great coffee and excellent value too. We really miss going here every day and... More

I've called in here a couple of times and enjoyed the take away coffee. Served with a smile and extra cup to stop me having hot fingers! Nice little touches with the service.
