Sea food was fresh (raw oysters, grilled sea bass, clam chowder) and delicious. Staff was more than accommodating (all wore masks, attended to our every need). Very clean restaurant with only outside seating with heaters for each table.
Menu is simple, but good. They serve all seafood from oysters to clam chowder to shrimp scampi. They open later in the day, around 5:30. You order at a window and enjoy your meal outdoors at tables distanced 6ft apart. If you like seafood, you...must try it.More
This is THE place to get seafood in town. The mussels were quite good. The white seabass was tasty, but just a bit overcooked and the chowder was tasty. My wife had the calamari (the panko breading was just a touch too thick). Perhaps, I...am a tough grader as a fisherman myself who expects the best from fish and how it is cooked. On the plus side, it was a walk from just about any place on Moonlight beach. They don't take reservations and a long line waited in front of us on arrival just before opening. This was fine though as we wanted a later sitting. They took our phone number and called us to let us know when a table would be ready and we walked back at that time. As noted by others, they only take cash.More
I've lived in Cambria for over 33 years, and there is no better seafood restaurant. Yesterday the Sea Chest opened for takeout meals during the coronavirus pandemic. We ordered the scampi on pasta, and the very famous calamari garnished with potatoes. We also had the...clam chowder and garden salad. It was the best as is always the case. Very friendly and efficient staff. Chefs Marco, Lalo and manager Steve do a great job. The Sea Chest is the best seafood in the county as evidenced by several out of town residents who pack the place on a daily basis. Yesterday I met a couple from Pasadena who come to Cambria primarily for a meal at the Sea Chest. That is NOT unusual. I will return!More
Like other reviewers have said, you need to get there early and you will sit outside to wait. Also bring cash. The calamari steak is something I've never seen before and it was easily the best calamari I've ever had. The clam chowder was good....I got the scallops with linguine. The scallops were incredible, the linguine was sort of inedible. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was very good. It would be my kind of place to revisit if we lived nearby.More
If you love oysters, or seafood in general this is the place to be. They open at 5:30 but you got to get there early because you’ll be standing in line to get in. They don’t take reservations. Cash or check, no credit cards. If...you can get to the bar you will see a show of food prep that’s insane. Best place in the county.More
Great ocean view and friendly staff. We got lucky and were able to walk right in. We brought our own wine which was politely served with a modest corkage fee. We both had variations of scallops and both were delicious. We were quite surprised at...their no credit card policy, but they have an ATM on site. All-in-all, a classy place to have a nice evening.More

When I visited in July they had small outdoor tables (maybe about 15 tables or so) in the front parking lot area. The tables were small, but probably could be moved together to accommodate a bigger group. There’s no canopy or shelter over the tables, but the weather is perfect, so you don’t need it. People tend to eat quickly and move on. Food is served through a pick up window, so there is no table service. Not sure what the corking fee is.
