We were excited to try something new in the area. We moved to Paso Robles about a year ago. We like to venture out and explore everything around us. Unfortunately The Sows Ear is not what we had hoped for. I got a very average Rib Eye that I ate half of. My wife got the special scallops with linguine.... More

My husband and I have dined here with mixed experiences in the past. We love Cambria and come every couple of years for a long weekend. We gave it another try a couple of days ago and decided that that would be it for the Sows Ear. My husband ordered Short Ribs and said it was a tough greasy pile... More

Alone, without a reservation, chilly after a day on the beach, the only place I wanted to go was The Sow's Ear. I did not mind that I would have to wait for a table, because the restaurant is small, it was prime dinner hour and everything about this gem is perfect. Incredibly (it was about 8:00 on Friday night... More

Delightful restaurant with cozy atmosphere. Beef stew was beyond fabulous but the parchment wrapped fish was a bit overdone. Service was good and not rushed.

Delicious food and the most cosy restaurant we've ever eaten at. The staff is excellent and even entertained our four month old baby while we ate! We've been to Cambria twice and eaten here both times and will return.

This place has been around for many years and is still a great dinner restaurant. We dined here twice while in town recently and both times were great experiences. The first visit we had steamed clams as an appetizer, which were good, albeit a bit salty. Entrees that night were the Cioppino and the filet mignon. Both were superb. The... More

I usually give Sow's Ear top marks for food quality and ambience at reasonable prices. But not on my latest visit. Okay, Monday nights are slow. But perhaps what you pay should be reduced commensurate with the poor service and bland food. To begin, the hostess (a new one) said the the fireplace wasn't working that night so steered us... A small establishment with all kinds of tchotchkes and a fireplace inside. Felt rushed to order my entree as soon as I sat down, I only ordered my wine while I checked out the menu, and then my waiter was swamped with tables. I was patient, he found his way back to me, and I no longer felt rushed. I... More

Had dinner on a Saturday night. We went early without a reservation and were lucky to get in - others were turned away after us. Food and service were good and lots of good options on the menu. Enjoyed the bread - light and dark cooked together in a flower pot. Lots of wines by the glass and a good... More

This is a bustling little village eatery that does home cooking right. Nothing fancy just good food and plenty of it. Good for families and priced right.
