About
Café Sarafornia is one of the last diners left in the Napa Valley and is a well-known (dare we say "famous"?) local destination for good food at a good value. We offer breakfast all day, and feature not only classic diner fare (Corned Beef Hash, Steak and Eggs, Chicken Fried Steak, 2+2+2) but our own take on breakfast and lunch with local Napa Valley flair (Brannan Benedict, Wildcat Scrambler, Palisades Omelet, Jalisco Wrap, and a Bombay Chicken Sandwich). Café Sarafornia is a great place get something to "soak up those tannins" before going wine tasting at one of the many world-class tasting rooms within walking distance in downtown Calistoga. Kids and families are always welcome.

Cafe Sarafornia is a wonderful eatery with amazing breakfasts! So much to choose from, and I had so little time to try everything. Fresh squeezed orange juice, perfect eggs and hashbrowns, and the most delicious pancakes....I could go on but you should really try it for yourself!

Drove from Redwood City to Napa for wine tasting. Stopped here for breakfast, arrived just before they opened. Absolutely adorable little friendly place. The restaurant became very busy not long after opening! I ordered the cheese blintzes and they were served with a very generous amount of fresh fruit and a nice amount of a sweetened type of sour cream that was fabulous. I thoroughly love my breakfast here. Coffee was fresh and tasty. Plan to come here again if in the area. Service was polite and efficient . Fully accessible and parking easily available on street.

We had a very good lunch at Cafe Sarafornia in Calistoga, the two salads we had, one with grilled chicken and one with quinoa in a bowl, were excellent, made if very fresh ingredients.
Service was efficient, helpful and friendly. Good place for a stop in downtown Calistoga. There is also a great bookstore across the street.

Staff were inattentive. One person taking orders and 4 on duty, but were told that we had to wait for that one person to service us. We ordered a Sarafornia Chicken Salad - however they forgot the chicken (staff had to be chased up). The BLT was dry and difficult to consume.
They need to change the sanitation/cleaners used to wipe tables - very sticky and unpleasant when touched or leaned on.
This venue has great potential if the food quality was raised and the floor staff were a little more attentive.

Great place for breakfast - we needed to eat as our hotel didn't provide breakfast. Loads of choice and friendly casual service like stepping back in time.
I dont eat eggs so usually struggle to find something tasty and savoury (pancakes with maple syrup usually stodgy and too sweet). But here the bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon was delicious- and came with a huge pile of lovely fresh fruit. Best breakfast by a mile. Husband loved his omelette but he's easier to please. Free coffee refills too. Recommended

Very busy diner type restaurant in the heart of town. Crowded and a bit tight seating but worth a stop. Service was friendly and attentive. Coffee refills came without asking. We went with a special pumpkin pancake offering and an egg skillet. Both were huge and tasty. Overall a nice breakfast.

We visited for breakfast on a Sunday morning in late August. There is inside seating at tables or a counter and outside sidewalk dining at this cute little diner. It was a beautiful day and most people waiting wanted the outdoor dining, so we were able to be seated immediately at a table inside. Our server, Loreen , was very busy, but super attentive. We enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and the chicken fried steak. The hashbrowns are awesome, although the scrambled eggs were a bit overcooked. The portions are huge, so we were fine with leaving the eggs and very happy we stopped in this diner for breakfast on a beautiful Sunday morning!

Everytime I visit Calistoga or St. Helena I make my companions eat breakfast at Cafe Sarafornia. It is consistently the best breakfast and the service is always friendly and fast. I am a vegetarian and love that I can get veggie sausage in my scrambles. The hash browns are my favorite hash browns ever. It is seriously so delicious with good prices and really generous servings. I love that the menu has remained almost the same for the past 10+ years. Comfort food at it's absolute best.

We had breakfast here. The biscuits and gravy and BLT were delicious with large servings.
Unfortunately, the “cappuccino” was awful, virtually tasteless white coffee with a weak foam floating on top.
Service was good, if a little slow and very friendly.

The food was good but nothing special for a breakfast. The food was overpriced (ex: two slices of bacon for $6). Everything had add ons. Service was okay. Definitely felt like the staff was in a rush and had no time to be personable. A few times, it felt like the staff was annoyed that we had questions or needed a moment to figure out our order.

This is definitely a diner atmosphere and they could use some direction in the dining area. Listened to one of the workers scold another for coming in late and then giving direction to take any table in the restaurant where they look like they are ready. Staffing is likely a challenge as it is for many but the food was decent (had the corned beef has) and coffee was hot. if staying near downtown it is an easy walk and good way to start morning.

We were staying in Calistoga for the week and visited this ca Fe for a late breakfast (8:15). The waitress was very good, eggs were excellent, but the coffee was very poor. We compare this with other breakfast coffees around Calistoga. Either there was a mistake in prep or??? We also was surprised that the French toast was wheat bread. We assumed upon ordering it would be sourdough or white— we should of asked? The bacon was tasteless as well.

We went for breakfast/brunch, service was good, atmosphere was nice, food was okay but nothing to write home about. Home made English muffins were a bit of a disappointment, more like bread, no nooks and cranies. My husband enjoyed his omelet but my breakfast sandwich was not as good as an egg mcmuffin.

Great experience! Welcoming staff, old town ambiance, and good food. Serves breakfast all day as well as lunch. I had Honey Oat Bran Pancakes and delicious bacon. My husband ordered a Sarafornia Cobb Salad that was full of turkey, bacon, hardboiled eggs, avocados, etc... We heartily recommend this wonderful eatery.

Our favorite spot for breakfast/brunch in Calistoga. Perfect location. Always busy. Good menu. Service is fast and the food always well prepared.
Bay Area habits have spread far and wide: expect the customary 20% gratuity with the common mis-calculations found elsewhere (gratuity based on food+tax).
We love the place and will happily return.
