Stella Alpina is a small resturant in Burlingame that may have the best food in town. It can be hard to get a reservation but the food is excellent. be warned, the "corkage" is $30 if you bring your own bottle.

Have been here many times, and loved it always. Don't miss the special truffle gnocchi (however many times they change the menu this little beauty hangs around, and for good reason), nor the fondue starter, which is a little piece of cheese heaven.

One of our top 5 in Burlingame. Excellent northern Italian, great service, mediocre wine list but fair corkage fee (and hey it's not SF). Hits the mark if you don't want to hassle with the city.

They do not sell gift certificates. That lowers the value of their establishment and causes their servers to let with lower tips.

One of the guests at our party needed gluten free and they were more than happy to accommodate them. I would suggest calling ahead to let them know of your special needs.
