Place to eat, only if you are masochist. There is no soap in the toilet during this pandemic time. We ordered a drinks and got only one menu!?. While we were saying hallo to acquaintances the waitress was rude and was impatiently forcing to order food. She came back to tell us that for ordered house dish – rump steak with homemade gnocchi and truffles- they ran out of rump steak, and they suggested to replace it with beef steak. We waited indefinitely. The tomatoes from the appetizer were partly moldy, the service poor. The food was awerage and the bill was exaggerated. They charged as we were eating beaf steak complete portion with side dishes and additionally gnocchi with truffles (which were with the rump steak as side dish), as if we were eating two main dishes.
The service was very poor. The waitress brought dishes on the table and left us to divide them ourselves and arrange the placemat. At the next table, the waitress explained that there dishes would be delayed, because she forgot to order the meals in the kitchen. We will not come back.

We have lunch here, and we had very bad experience. 2 stars are just because of the lovely and smiling waitresses.
I order gnocchi with chicken for 15€ and lemonade for 4€.
As you can see on photos, 4-5 small pieces of chicken were in the plate, which was very hard to find.
It supposed to be lemonade, but it wasn’t.

We stopped only for a coffe after we been at sightseeing the castle Žužemberk..
Place is nice decorated. We sat outside on a terrace which is very near road..

The service is a disaster. The waitress came to our table, didnt say hello,just stared in us While we were ordering drinks she just left and didnt come back fir 10 minutes. I guess we didnt order quick enough, because she turned her eyes and went inside. We were shocked. So we left.

Food is not terrible but service is very slow, when the first already eat the last pearson didn't even get the food. I do not recommend!

After waiting 20 min for placing order, we waited AN OTHER HOUR for our food.
Too much guests and total unorganized kitchen. This is happening when guests are granted because of location.

After visiting the Zuzemberk Castle, you may try this gostilna, it's a very live place, plenty of bikers, in front of the castle itself.
Good food, absolutely reasonable prices. If it's crowded, be patient and ask the young lady to help.

Went off the beaten track to a charming little Slovenian town of Zuzemberk. Interesting mini-castle to explore. Next door was a small little tavern-type place so we took a gamble. Super-friendly staff. Food was surprisingly good even though we just went for a basic pizza and then vegetarian dish. Very reasonably priced, but it was the atmosphere that was fun. On top of it, a large local family was there and one of them had a small accordion for live music. Very acceptable, memorable place.

We ordered pizza and fried calamari. The pizza was ok, but the calamari were not so good. And no side dish was included with calamari. The prices are a bit expensive.

Terible food and very unpolite staff. At the end of meal when we wanted to pay with credi card they simply told us to go to the ATM and bring the cash.

A simple local place in the center looking at the castle . Bar inside , tables for eating outside as well . Mushroom soup was good and hot , price of 4 euros . Friendly English speaking service

We found this place entirely by luck. The service was good, food was nice (especially pizza's for children (shaped as a bear). Great location. The only bad thing was that you could not pay with a credit card. Only cash.
We will return soon.
