We were a party of 8 from after a college graduation last May and had reservations. We were seated in their covered outdoor area. It was a busy Saturday but the staff was more than capable. We ordered 7 different items and no one had...any complaints. I didn't try most of the other orders but when we there they were going with Impossible brand but now it looks like they switched to Beyond Meat brand. The 2 people who ordered the Impossible burger really liked them. The Nashville Chicken Sandwich got a thumbs up and the Lobster Club (with shrimp too) was yummy. With the burgers I would recommend getting the house-made potato chips as they are superb! Would not have a problem eating at Jimmy's FAT again, either here or one of their other locations.More

This place has a pretty decent menu but I've only eaten their main burger every time I've been there. Very good burger, cooked perfectly, with a wide variety of sides. Deserts are great too. The place is clean, nice location (at the corner), and the...staff is friendly. Highly recommended.More

Our family was searching specifically for fish 'n chips this Saturday evening. My mom, who "hates" going to restaurants (for her variety of reasons) was vetoing everything. We finally thought we would go to Slapfish which is in the same parking lot. When we got...there, that place looked super dark and danky...cold and uninviting really. And my mom didn't love the menu. So my brother mentioned that he had been to Jimmy's once before and that it was nice so we headed over. What an awesome decision! We sat outside on the patio, and even though it was a chilly evening in December, it was great out there! They had all the heaters on and it was perfectly comfortable. So warm that when our food came, everything stayed warm and didn't cool off in two seconds like it normally does when you sit outside. Even though the patio was 3/4 full of guests, it was easy to hear each other talk and wasn't too loud. They had Christmas lights lining the outside and it was super cozy and cute, and the lighting was bright and welcoming but not overbearing. Christmas music softly playing, the football game that we wanted to see was on. Three of four of us ordered the fish 'n chips which were STELLAR. Super hot, the batter itself was tasty and delicious, nice huge chunks of fresh fish, and the fries were amazing! My brother had the pappardelle pasta with cubed steak. Everything was excellent, served right out of the kitchen. Service was attentive and we could tell that the workers communicate very well in the back, because whenever we asked for something, it would be delivered one minute later and we had more than one person assist us. Drinks were delivered within 3 min of ordering which was so nice. The telltale review of this place is that my picky MOM ate everything on her plate and commented on what a good time she was having. We will DEFINITELY be back. All the food that was being delivered to the tables around us looked so delicious!More

This is burgers done right. Perfectly cooked just the way you like. I'll recommend the spicy Californian. Can't go wrong with any.

This is the second Jimmy’s I’ve been to. The other is at Dana Point Harbor. The fish and chips are good. I would return again.

My co-workers and I decided to try Jimmy's Famous American Tavern for luncb and we were not disappointed. We tried a variety of entrees: burgers/ahi burger/flatbread/salad/lobster and shrimp sandwich. The food was delicious. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. If you are...in the area and are looking for some good old comfort food, then I would suggest a visit to Jimmy's Famous American Tavern.More

But the service was really slow and they kept missing things (like not bringing ordered drinks). Potentially it was a 1-time thing, or maybe a Tuesday thing, or maybe it’s just a thing. It did impact our visit regardless. The food was very good. We...were all pleased with our meals.More

I really like this restaurant; the atmosphere is fun, decor is pretty cool, and the food is delicious! I went here because I heard they have the Impossible Burger and not many places do. It was amazingly good, and the rest of my family (who...are not vegan) loved what they ordered as well. I recommend giving it a try if you’re in the area :)More
