Love the restaurant and the food is excellent. Had the price fixe menu which offers a fixed menu and fixed price. Staff are amazing and food is excellent. Recommend a reservation as it is a busy restaurant.

All of our food was delicious. Nice surroundings with good ambiance. But service was definitely lacking. Waited a looonngg time before waitress came to table to take drink orders. Then waited long time time between courses. At one point, the apparent manager came over and...asked if we were ready for dessert and we explained were still waiting for entrees. I expected better. But the food was good.More

I recently took my wife here for a birthday dinner on a Sunday night of a 3 day weekend. I was surprised to see it so busy and was glad I had a reservation. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was pleasant, but unfortunately...it took 40 minutes for our server to take our dinner order. The crab cake appetizers were great, and my wife enjoyed her surf n turf with filet mignon and lobster. The ribeye I ordered medium rare came out rare and fattier than I'd like but by the time it arrived I was starving and was close to eating the plate it came on. Overall my experience here was good, but I was hoping for great.More

My husband and I ate there in December. We started with the baked Brie. Amazing. He then ordered the lamb and I had the osso Bucco. Both were cooked to perfection. But even beyond the food was our waiter Ramon. He was so attentive and...friendly. He really knew the menu and had a lot of enthusiasm regarding every dish. (Rightly so). I would highly recommend this hidden gem!More

What a wonderful meal. We received complementary champagne as soon as we sat down and it just kept getting better. We chose the Prix Fixe, which is a 3 course meal. I had the the crab cake , 1/2 Cornish game hen and coconut snow...ball for dessert. All three were outstanding. The dressing with the hen was amazing. Of course a great dinner must be accompanied with a great drink. I had the festive Pama-tini. The wait staff was so attentive and friendly. This is a hidden gem in a historic location.More

What a wonderful treasure hidden away at the top of Borrego Springs! From the minute you step through the door you are transported to a different era. The lobby, bar, and restaurant are done in a lovely nod to mid century modern without the cheesy...spin so many desert businesses use. We arrived ahead of our Thanksgiving day reservations, ordered drinks that were masterfully crafted and headed to the lounge area where the gentleman on the grand piano delighted all with his talent. At our reservation time we were seated at an intimate corner table with a view of the property’s beautiful Olympic sized swimming pool. Soon a flute of champagne and a basket of house made rolls were brought to our table . Then our server arrived and instantly we knew we were in for a special evening. Ramon, simply put, was AMAZING! Seriously, other restaurants need to hire this man to train their servers on how to properly take care of paying customers! He expertly guided us through the special Holiday menu fully knowledgeable of each and every dish’s ingredients and method of preparation. I’m not a huge fan of Thanksgiving turkey dinners but I figured I might as well try it. I was not disappointed! It was honestly the best turkey dinner I’ve ever eaten ( and I’m old and have eaten decades of them). We ended our meal sharing nice warmed slices of pumpkin and apple pies. IMO the location was surprising, the ambiance was lovely, the food was very delicious, and Ramon was an absolute delight! People, go!More

Ordered the Saturday night prime rib which was really expensive but. delicious, The vegetables were terrible, frozen brussel sprouts, and the mashed potatoes tasted like instant. This was our 2nd dinner here last week. We returned because we enjoyed our 1st meal so much. There...were fresh vegetables, nugget potatoes and the ceasar salad serving size was much larger.More

Excellent date night venue... beautiful views and a relaxing experience. We were never rushed and all staff was amazingly friendly We started with cocktails at the bar then moved to our poolside table. Dinner was amazing, I haven't had a ceasar salad this good in...years. Little anchovies on top and crispy parmesan cheese so the side. I would come back just for that salad....so so good! Cornish game hen super flavorul. Rib eye ordered medium rare and cooked to order. Husband had a wedge salad and loved it! Started dinner with complimentary champagne which is a very nice touch and ended it with a coconut crusted vanilla ice cream with fudge...really how can a date night get better than that?More

This place has everything! If you are transfixed by the stunning beauty of the southwestern desert, and need a place to escape: you will find it here! The bar and steakhouse complete this Resort: The Palms at Indianhead. It has the best pool in Borrego...and a classic desert hotel. I live in Borrego Springs, and have joined there membership as a daily swimmer($75/month) But I was invited for dinner in December by one of my friends, and have had the chance to return, with pleasure. The Coyote Steakhouse is located in the extreme Northwestern part of Borrego, just at the foot of Indianhead Mt. My house is up in the extreme southeastern foothills above Borrego, in Rams Hill, so when I visit this resort, I feel like I'm stepping out into another realm. I love it.More

My husband and I make it a point to visit Borrego Springs a few times a year. This is the first time we tried Coyote Steakhouse and to say we were blown away would be quite an understatement. The excellent service started when we called...to make a reservation for dinner. The hostess was so friendly, and this was on the heels of my husband calling a different Coyote restaurant and being told that it was “MEMBERS ONLY”. Once we arrived, she was quick to say “Hi, we just spoke! Please, follow me to your table.” The ambiance of this hotel and restaurant is so welcoming and relaxing. The mid century modern theme comes through right when you walk through the front doors. Sleek furniture, a beautiful piano and creative lighting fixtures immediately make you feel like you walked into a magazine photo shoot. Getting back to service, there was not one employee who broke away from being polite, professional and accommodating even for a moment. You’re greeted with bread and a glass of champagne before you even order. Lastly, the food was delicious. How wonderful is it that the delicious food was just a cherry on top of the beautiful experience of visiting this boutique hotel/ restaurant. We will surely be back, and next time we plan on staying at the hotel as well.More

My son and I spent last weekend at Palms at Indian Head. After 3 long, chilly days of birding Salton Sea and Anza Borrego SP, we were ready for a great, hot meal in the evening and the Coyote Steakhouse didn’t disappoint. We both thoroughly...enjoyed 2 dinners there - each time, the food was outstanding & the wait staff were friendly, helpful & anticipated our needs.More
