Wanted a nice final dinner in town and asked at the Historical Society which recommended this place. Had no idea it existed, it is located at the Palm's Hotel which has a long history, was closed for many years and reopened now as a boutique...hotel with only 12 rooms... Staff was very nice. Space heaters outside for diners, white table clothes. 3 course prix fix dinner is only $21 if ordered before 6:30Pm, thereafter $27...Nice variety of choices for each course. Would definitely go again.More

I odered the $35 16 ounce ribeye steak. It was the greasiest steak i think i have ever eaten. Probably 8 of the 16 ounces were made up of fat. Could only get down two or three bites before I had to stop. Also the...chair that i sat in was the most uncomfortable seat I have ever experienced in what is supposed to be an upscale restaurant. To be fair, my co-diners had rack of lamb, filet mignon and a cheese burger, all of which they found to be palatable, if not excellent. The service was also quite slow.More

We have eaten at the Coyote Steakhouse twice in the last couple of weeks. Both times were amazing! Don’t let the Steakhouse name worry you. I’m a vegetarian, and found amazing options, particularly the portabella mushroom! The views are spectacular, the whole scene is retro and...beautiful. We had Linda as our server for both visits, and she was amazing. Friendly, and very conversant, even on a busy evening. Love this place! Perfect for a desert sunset view and great food.More

Before 6pm Coyote offers a 3 course dinner for 19.95 (after 6, $25) that is outstanding. Many appetizers and entrees to choose from. I had the crab cake with lots of crab lumps in it and the Cornish hen. Husband had an amazing wedge salad...and chicken cordon bleu. The quality of the food and preparation was tops. Add that to impeccable and friendly service and you have a place you’ll want to return to time and again.More

This was our first visit for a birthday that was last minute with no reservations. From begging to end, from the hostess to service and our departure, friendly and attentiveness were the words that come to mind. The best part is it didn't end there,...the food was outstanding and everything was cooked to perfection! From the perfectly medium rare 14 oz NY to the Grilled Portobello with Bean Cake and our 6 year old getting a burger bigger than his head, we can't wait to go back. Oh, and we were there to celebrate my wifes birthday and they decorate the table with confetti and comped us a beautiful warm peach cobble with vanilla ice cream, it was delicious!More

Hosted a twins birthday event up at The Coyote Steakhouse for 15 people. The restaurant had us set up in a separate room with the table all decked out in birthday decorations. The servers (Ramon and Tony) did a great job taking care of us...from start to finish. The food was delicious and very reasonable as we took advantage of their 3-course dinner special for under $20. Many thanks also to Marcy, Events Coordinator, who helped in putting this all together for us.More

We had not been to the Coyote Steakhouse for about ten years so for our anniversary ventured on over thinking if it's still open all these years later... it must be good. Well it was a Saturday night and Prime Rib is featured. Excellent! Huge...thick cut! Perfectly delivered medium rare! Very good potatoes and green beans and puff pastry. Add in a bottle of wine, lovely wife to converse with, delightful server... and it was great! Why have we waited so long?More

I had the portebella mushroom as I don’t eat red meat and there were just a few selections to meet my needs. It was just Ok. The dish had to much sauce which over powered the mushroom and bean cake that got very mushy. The...atmosphere is, however, the best in Borrego and our server was excellent.More
