Before 6pm Coyote offers a 3 course dinner for 19.95 (after 6, $25) that is outstanding. Many appetizers and entrees to choose from. I had the crab cake with lots of crab lumps in it and the Cornish hen. Husband had an amazing wedge salad and chicken cordon bleu. The quality of the food and preparation was tops. Add that to impeccable and friendly service and you have a place you’ll want to return to time and again.

Hosted a twins birthday event up at The Coyote Steakhouse for 15 people. The restaurant had us set up in a separate room with the table all decked out in birthday decorations. The servers (Ramon and Tony) did a great job taking care of us from start to finish. The food was delicious and very reasonable as we took advantage of their 3-course dinner special for under $20. Many thanks also to Marcy, Events Coordinator, who helped in putting this all together for us.

This was our first visit for a birthday that was last minute with no reservations. From begging to end, from the hostess to service and our departure, friendly and attentiveness were the words that come to mind. The best part is it didn't end there, the food was outstanding and everything was cooked to perfection! From the perfectly medium rare 14 oz NY to the Grilled Portobello with Bean Cake and our 6 year old getting a burger bigger than his head, we can't wait to go back. Oh, and we were there to celebrate my wifes birthday and they decorate the table with confetti and comped us a beautiful warm peach cobble with vanilla ice cream, it was delicious!

I odered the $35 16 ounce ribeye steak. It was the greasiest steak i think i have ever eaten. Probably 8 of the 16 ounces were made up of fat. Could only get down two or three bites before I had to stop.
Also the chair that i sat in was the most uncomfortable seat I have ever experienced in what is supposed to be an upscale restaurant.
To be fair, my co-diners had rack of lamb, filet mignon and a cheese burger, all of which they found to be palatable, if not excellent.
The service was also quite slow.

We are very sad to hear you did not have a great time at our restaurant. We do hope you told your waiter about your inedible meal so they may quickly get you a replacement! We will look into the other issues you experienced and purse the steps necessary to avoid them in the future. We strive to provide quick and friendly service as much as we can however sometimes we do ask our patrons to bare with us in this busy time of the year for Borrego! Do visit again next time you are in town!

What a wonderful treasure hidden away at the top of Borrego Springs! From the minute you step through the door you are transported to a different era. The lobby, bar, and restaurant are done in a lovely nod to mid century modern without the cheesy spin so many desert businesses use.
We arrived ahead of our Thanksgiving day reservations, ordered drinks that were masterfully crafted and headed to the lounge area where the gentleman on the grand piano delighted all with his talent.
At our reservation time we were seated at an intimate corner table with a view of the property’s beautiful Olympic sized swimming pool. Soon a flute of champagne and a basket of house made rolls were brought to our table . Then our server arrived and instantly we knew we were in for a special evening. Ramon, simply put, was AMAZING! Seriously, other restaurants need to hire this man to train their servers on how to properly take care of paying customers! He expertly guided us through the special Holiday menu fully knowledgeable of each and every dish’s ingredients and method of preparation. I’m not a huge fan of Thanksgiving turkey dinners but I figured I might as well try it. I was not disappointed! It was honestly the best turkey dinner I’ve ever eaten ( and I’m old and have eaten decades of them). We ended our meal sharing nice warmed slices of pumpkin and apple pies.
IMO the location was surprising, the ambiance was lovely, the food was very delicious, and Ramon was an absolute delight!
People, go!

Wanted a nice final dinner in town and asked at the Historical Society which recommended this place. Had no idea it existed, it is located at the Palm's Hotel which has a long history, was closed for many years and reopened now as a boutique hotel with only 12 rooms... Staff was very nice. Space heaters outside for diners, white table clothes. 3 course prix fix dinner is only $21 if ordered before 6:30Pm, thereafter $27...Nice variety of choices for each course. Would definitely go again.

My husband and I make it a point to visit Borrego Springs a few times a year. This is the first time we tried Coyote Steakhouse and to say we were blown away would be quite an understatement. The excellent service started when we called to make a reservation for dinner. The hostess was so friendly, and this was on the heels of my husband calling a different Coyote restaurant and being told that it was “MEMBERS ONLY”. Once we arrived, she was quick to say “Hi, we just spoke! Please, follow me to your table.”
The ambiance of this hotel and restaurant is so welcoming and relaxing. The mid century modern theme comes through right when you walk through the front doors. Sleek furniture, a beautiful piano and creative lighting fixtures immediately make you feel like you walked into a magazine photo shoot.
Getting back to service, there was not one employee who broke away from being polite, professional and accommodating even for a moment.
You’re greeted with bread and a glass of champagne before you even order.
Lastly, the food was delicious. How wonderful is it that the delicious food was just a cherry on top of the beautiful experience of visiting this boutique hotel/ restaurant.
We will surely be back, and next time we plan on staying at the hotel as well.

My son and I spent last weekend at Palms at Indian Head. After 3 long, chilly days of birding Salton Sea and Anza Borrego SP, we were ready for a great, hot meal in the evening and the Coyote Steakhouse didn’t disappoint. We both thoroughly enjoyed 2 dinners there - each time, the food was outstanding & the wait staff were friendly, helpful & anticipated our needs.

I first discovered The Palms at Indian Head and Coyote Steak House 12 years ago. The restaurant is a mid century modern gem and a totally unexpected delight seemingly isolated in the Borrego Desert. It feels as if you are stepping back into the time off Vintage Hollywood coming to escape the rat race. And you do! The food is ALWAYS delicious and inventive, beautifully presented, generously proportioned and you won’t believe at the end of the meal you can be treated to such an unusually unique experience for the price! Just stop by and check out the grounds and you will want to come back for dinner AND to stay the night!

The dinner met our wishes, very tasty, we had the pork tenderloin and I had the exceptional Chicken Cordon Blue (my order). They offer good wines and beyond good. Next visit we will return. The manager treats you with care and attention to your needs. They provide a warm and hospitable ambiance ... quiet setting.

We dined here on the outdoor patio on a chilly Thursday evening when most patrons were dining inside. However, they had ample and brand new heaters. As soon as we sat down we were promptly served two complimentary glasses of champagne! I immediately proclaimed to my husband, “Now THIS is how to make an impression!” Class act! We ordered the shrimp scampi and it was very good. Good service! Great ambiance! As we walked through the lobby we noticed they had completely refurbished it with new furniture, etc. Nice improvement!

This place has everything! If you are transfixed by the stunning beauty of the southwestern desert, and need a place to escape: you will find it here!
The bar and steakhouse complete this Resort: The Palms at Indianhead. It has the best pool in Borrego and a classic desert hotel. I live in Borrego Springs, and have joined there membership as a daily swimmer($75/month) But I was invited for dinner in December by one of my friends, and have had the chance to return, with pleasure.
The Coyote Steakhouse is located in the extreme Northwestern part of Borrego, just at the foot of Indianhead Mt. My house is up in the extreme southeastern foothills above Borrego, in Rams Hill, so when I visit this resort, I feel like I'm stepping out into another realm. I love it.

Excellent date night venue... beautiful views and a relaxing experience. We were never rushed and all staff was amazingly friendly We started with cocktails at the bar then moved to our poolside table. Dinner was amazing, I haven't had a ceasar salad this good in years. Little anchovies on top and crispy parmesan cheese so the side. I would come back just for that salad....so so good! Cornish game hen super flavorul. Rib eye ordered medium rare and cooked to order. Husband had a wedge salad and loved it! Started dinner with complimentary champagne which is a very nice touch and ended it with a coconut crusted vanilla ice cream with fudge...really how can a date night get better than that?

Ordered the Saturday night prime rib which was really expensive but. delicious, The vegetables were terrible, frozen brussel sprouts, and the mashed potatoes tasted like instant.
This was our 2nd dinner here last week. We returned because we enjoyed our 1st meal so much. There were fresh vegetables, nugget potatoes and the ceasar salad serving size was much larger.

My wife and I had just spent a day hiking in the park and went to the early price fixe dinner at the Coyote Steakhouse. We had been here several times before and have been charmed by its history and personal nostalgia. The food has always been very good as has the service, but this time it was truly memorable.
We were greeted by Ramon, who steered us to the perfect table. From then on his service was personable, congenial and attentive. When we left, we felt as if we had made a friend for life and knew that when we return to Borrego Springs we would also return to the Coyote Steakhouse.
The rest of the staff was equally attentive and courteous and the food was great. The trout had, as promised, no bones and the flat iron steak was cooked just right.
