We stopped in here for dinner recently. About half full and quiet chilly. Got a table by gas stove so bit warmer. After 10 min got some water and bread. The bread smelled so rancid we had to push it on the other side of...the table. Pasta was fine, fish ok. I would not recommend this place for dinner.More
I had an Ok tomato soup and a terrible Cesar salad. The calamari was marginal for a sea-side restaurant. Ridiculous win prices; kids having fries with the kids menu items doubled the price. Not to mention that waitress was overwhelmed which made the experience just...not acceptable.
Coffee in the morning is nice. Breakfast sandwiches are warm and are tasty if the warmed them.More
Went here today with friends
We all enjoyed our meals - big sandwiches- good burgers - veggie tamale got a thumbs down for no flavor - not much veggie on menu
But there is no where else to eat in Bolinas so this is what...was availableMore
Bolinas, Ca. is an old fashion, north California beach town. This is the only sit down cafe in the town, which is usually walk in or wait a while. You can call ahead and ask them to save a table. The fish is very fresh,...locally caught just terrific. Most if comes deep fried, in reasonable clean oil. However, I am sure they would saute' the fillets for you if you prefer. Nice local girls are the waitresses, with a matree'd who keeps things organized. Very nice California wine list, good coffee, etc.More
While visiting Bolinas my husband and I decided to grab a bite to eat. We sat at a table outside and enjoyed our conversation while people watching.
We ordered the calamari, clam chowder, caesar salad and a side of cheese grits to share. Everything, especially...the clam chowder, tasted great. My husband didn't care for the grits very much but I enjoyed them. Our server was friendly and let us take our time eating and chatting.
The atmosphere is simple and the menu is simple. It's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal after you've been hiking or driving for a while.
Overall good food, good service, good experience.More
There isn't a big party scene in Bolinas which is just as well. But you're looking for some entertainment (live music!), good food and friendly vibe, the Coast Cafe should be on your list. I really liked my meal with meat straight from the outdoor...BBQ and the buzz in the place.More
We stayed at Smiley's Hotel so it was a treat to walk across the street into this surfer-themed cafe for an excellent dinner of portabello mushroom over quinoa and prawns and vegetables over quinoa. The service was great and the prices only just slightly higher...than comparables in the City. The Cafe has a nice quiet side patio if you're going for lunch. It's best to call ahead for reservations.More
