Read a lot about this place on Yelp and Trip Advisor so thought we’d check it out. Line took about an hour to get through. We ordered 2 crab sandwiches, 2 clam chowders and French Bread. Bill came out to almost $50. Sandwiches were pretty...tiny and overrated. They were good but not worth all the hype, imo. On the other hand, the chowder was really good! We got a French Bread to eat with it and it was delicious. Didn’t finish my sandwich but I definitely ate all of my chowder. If I came back, I’d get the chowder and bread and come at another time other than lunchtime.More

We have been to spuds 3 times now and every time the food was mouthwatering. I've never had any clam chowder as good as theirs. They also had proper covid protocols. We drove by at 1pm on a Sunday and there was a line probably...50 people long... THATS HOW GOOD IT IS! When we returned around 3pm we only waited behind 1 group. We noticed there was the 6-foot distancing stickers. Then when we got to the counter it had plexiglass to protect the workers and the customers. The pin pad had clear plastic wrap on it and the person taking the orders held it under the plexiglass so you only had to touch your credit card. They also had an intercom system so there was no need for shouting on either end to be heard behind the masks and plexiglass. There was proper mask wearing (no noses) by all the staff. Overall the chowder was a 10 out of 10. The crab sandwich was also AMAZING, but next to the soup it wasn't as good... still 8.5 out of 10 made it worst your money if you're craving crab.More

We had a local tell us about this place while we were on vacation. Due to our trip timelines we could only make it by there about 10:30 in the morning. There was already a line. We each got a crab sandwich and New England...Clam Chowder. it struct me as funny to have New England chowder in California, but boy it was good! I don't know if I've every had any better Clam Chowder. Sandwich was great, but the Chowder took the top prize! Very small little place by the docks . Order at a window and they call you when its ready. Sit outside only at picnic styled tables and watch the boats. I could have stayed all day. The Best! Don't miss it.More

We LOVE this place, and drive over an hour just to get the New England style clam chowder. It’s so good; don’t be surprised by the hit of garlic! We’ve been going here for years and it never disappoints. We usually get it ‘to go’...then drive up to Bodega Head to eat our lunch. It makes for a wonderful day!More

The line is long but moves quickly. The chowder is very good along with the bread they offer. The crab sandwich was also good.

Right now it is take-out only, but so worth it. The clam chowder is amazing--best in California, and that is saying a lot. If you come anywhere near meal time, expect a line--but it will move quickly, and you will be glad you waited the...short time.More

Love the huge and tasty crab sandwich. Get there early and expect a line. But we'll worth the wait. Grab a cup of chowder while you wait.

Cute little place across the street from the water. Thoroughly enjoyed the chowder, and being from New England, I'm pretty fussy. Crab sandwich also looked good and got raves. No frills, for sure -- tables are picnic variety, shared, birds scampering around looking for scraps...-- and everything is outdoors. They also have crabs that they'll crack & clean for you to bring home too (bonus).More

There is no liquor license. It is a fast casual place with outside picnic tables and only serve non-alcoholic beverages. Food is great so don't let the fact they don't serve alcohol stop you!
