premade or to-order sandwiches are great... usually get a free cookie too and they often have lots of samples around too

Never disappoints. Will eat here and bring home goodies every time I’m in the area. Turkey pot pie was absolutely delicious! They have a bacon and cheese bread, can’t wait to try it. But I come for the macaroons. The best macaroons I have ever...tasted!More

We have been coming to Schat's for over 25 years. They bake fresh baked goods every single day. They have so much to choose from. We always end up getting the sticky pull apart breads. The pecan one is so good. We have tried just...about all their breads. The sourdough is excellent. If you're in the mood for a fresh baked pastry stop in! In addition they will make your sandwich of choice or they have ready made ones available. If you are uncomfortable in crowds right now with the covid-19 don't go into Schat's. It is wall to wall customers. I went at 6AM when they opened up to avoid the crowds and was in and out in 10 minutes.More

Very crowded and confusing. It was hard to tell what was a line for picking items and which was a line for paying. There were racks and racks of baked goods, and no clear indication when they were baked. We got a prepackaged tuna salad...and the bottom bread slice was soggy from the tuna having sat and leaked on it.More

I took my son fornhis first visit to Schat's this past weekend. As always, the baked goods were outstanding and the service was crisp and efficient. We found it silly, however, to be kept waiting for over 30-minutes outside keeping six feet apart from others...in line only to be allowed into the store where a second line awaited with absolutely no social distancing - people lined up nose-to-nose, which has always been the case at this establishment. What's the point? That said, a visit to Schat's while traveling through Bishop is always highly recommended. Outstanding breads, strudels, donuts and breakfast sandwiches with fresh-squeezed orange juice. Everything here is always top-notch.More

She knows me well how I will spend when I find a great bakery. I did manage to get several great items. Very nice selection of items and what I have read they are consist year after year. My strudel and coffee was very enjoyable.

A place my husband recalled from childhood (he’s almost 60). We were staying in Lone Pine but needed an afternoon adventure. We ended up getting bread, meat, salad and cheese for our lunch the next day and great cookies, coffee, and a few gifts too....So much fun! Go!More

Fully stocked bakery and pre-made sandwiches to go. Limited outdoor patio seating facing Main Street. Pleasant staff, breads and pull apart breads galore. The apple fritters were the best ever!

I have no idea what Honi slaw bread is. If you find out please let me know. Volkoren bread just means it is a whole grain bread. They do have a webside and they will ship to your home
