This bakery was a family run business and was very popular !! It had savoury and sweet bakes which were really amazing!! There were so many different types of pastries and breads!! They have a sit-in cafe area and also a shop!!

You can't go to Bishop without visiting Erick Schat's. It is the best bakery ever. They have every kind of bread you can imagine, and they are all great. The sweets are to die for also. Load up and take some home; they freeze well. I highly recommend to everyone to try it. You won't be sorry.

We visited this one day and purchased some very good breads. The place is SUPER busy. The next morning we stopped in to get a couple of sandwiches and the sandwich counter was not open at 7:30, even though they were open don't count on getting picnic food. We were extremely disapointed.

Amazing place but it isn't Top Secret. Why no photos? They ship all over the world I guess, we saw forklifts and pallets of product being loaded. Good food but again, what's with the no camera or video policy...we're tourists, it's what we do!

A lot of people there, too much for me. It's better to take everything to go. Food is very tasty, and I like interior very much!

I have been going to Bishop since I was a child! We always stop at Schat's! We do not eat all the bread or baked goodies anymore which are yummy...but what we do get now every time we come here is a Hot Pastrami sandwich on Sheepherders bread! Oh my it is the best sandwich ever! We will go out... More

Fabulous bakery and a must if you are traveling through Bishop. This place is famous and that is no surprise. They have tables for breakfast and lunch but the bakery items are its claim to fame. We liked the Almond Cherry Coffee Cake and the lemon cookies. But it's all delicious and very tempting.

Have eaten here a couple of times when staying at the Creekside Inn which is next door. It's great to get a sandwich and take it back to the hotel where you can eat in the lobby dining room. They serve ice water, lemonade, iced tea, and coffee all day. Even if you're not staying at Creekside you'll still love... More

I noticed the bakery when we passed it enroute to our hotel and asked the front desk clerk about it. She was very positive in her comments and provided the hours for the next day. So, I entered the bakery the next morning (expecting to see a limited selection, and was overwhelmed at the vast selection of baked goods from... More
