Really great sandwiches. Carved turkey, fresh tomatoes. Full bakery with several kinds of bread, cookies, candy deserts of every kind, coffee bar. We were on a bus they have bus parking across the street. Clean restaurant with clean restrooms.

I was afraid this place wouldn't live up to the hype. For one reason or another, I've never been able to stop by in the past. Well during a recent road trip, I made sure I finally tried something from their bakery. I was so...More

Stopped on our way home to San Diego from Tahoe. Apparently EVERYONE else had the same idea. It was ridiculously crowded so be prepared to wait in a long line for ordering food. We gave up on the specialty sandwiches and soup lines and just...More

As we passed through Bishop, we stopped at Erick Schat's Bakkery. Man, what a find! This place is the Disneyland of bakeries! It's like stepping into a whole different world! One filled, and I do mean filled, with many different types/styles of bread, cookies, pastries,...More

Schat’s Bakery is an institution in Bishop. I remember stopping for Sheepherder’s bread in 1972 on the way to Mammoth Mountain. They’re bakery items are delicious. It does get a bit too crowded for comfort.

Spoilt for choice over the selection of food within the bakery. Too much choice probably! Love sitting outside and enjoying the food. Only complaint is I couldn't fit more in.

Hello there. I’m pretty positive that it’s a crunchy crust bread with a softer center. I heard it’s a lighter and ever so lightly sweeter.. I didn’t order it, but I over heard people talking about it. Hope that helps
