As we passed through Bishop, we stopped at Erick Schat's Bakkery. Man, what a find! This place is the Disneyland of bakeries! It's like stepping into a whole different world! One filled, and I do mean filled, with many different types/styles of bread, cookies, pastries,...More
Schat’s Bakery is an institution in Bishop. I remember stopping for Sheepherder’s bread in 1972 on the way to Mammoth Mountain. They’re bakery items are delicious. It does get a bit too crowded for comfort.
Schat's Bakery is amazing, Their selection of baked good, pastries, breads, etc. defies description. They also offer sandwiches, coffee and speciality drinks. Their fresh squeezed orange juice is exceptional.

Hello there. I’m pretty positive that it’s a crunchy crust bread with a softer center. I heard it’s a lighter and ever so lightly sweeter.. I didn’t order it, but I over heard people talking about it. Hope that helps
