This place is worth the few minutes extra drive from town. Stopped in on a Friday afternoon. Super quaint set up . You walk up or drive thru to place your order and they bring you your food. We ordered the following: Turkey burger with...havartti cheese. Cheese burger Bacon cheeseburger. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Meat is clean, bread is soft and service was great. They do have veggie options and had gluten free buns on the menu. Support local!More
Great food and friendly staff highly recommended - visiting from the UK and this place is great after a day outdoors
Just came off the Little Lakes trail, having spent the night at Gem Lake. A fellow backpacker recommended the Burger Barn/Basket for the best burgers around. He was absolutely right, the Wack a Mole with extra avocado is amazing. I will definitely go back again....It was huge and the best way to end a backpacking trip. The fries and onion rings are also great. Keep your eye open for the location, it can be easy to miss.More
This place is a must stop on every trip to or through Bishop. Always stop here for the best burgers in Bishop. The location is great and the place is cool!
It is a dive but they have good burgers and fries. We had a bacon/avocado burger, a garden burger and a small order of fries. Excellent. Costs us around $17. We drank water -- which was a problem, as it sits outside in the sun...and was very warm, bordering on hot. Nothing is made in advance so it can take a while to get your order, especially when it is busy. BTW, on a Wednesday night, they closed at 7 pm. Worth going, especially if you are a burger guy/gal.More
We heard about Burger Barn from one of the locals. Apparently he and is wife eat there daily. So we had to give it a try. Yup, he was right! Best burger in the region! The place is funky and rustic, has little parking, but...it fits right in for a funky burger joint. It’s located adjacent to a mobile home facility, so we walked around while we waited for our food. Needless to say that 100 degree heat, our walk was short. Thank you for setting up misters to cool off the customers. We ordered the Classic, Western, and the Wack-a-Mole. Tons of food! Deliciousness, can’t wait to go againMore
Reading reviews we thought we food the mother load but frankly it was a disappointment. Was it bad? No …. but it wasn't good either. Just another average burger joint. I think they believe condiments are gold or something as they gave us a small...amount of ketchup for the fries. I went over to the window and there were none to grab. Onion rings were homemade but the grease must of been tired ...More
Gerald, Sorry you felt that way. We've found keeping condiments in 100+ degrees is less than ideal. We have a quick service window, that provides fast refills on soft drinks, sides of ketchup, etc. We change our fry oil every day, or other day depending...More
was pleased to see grass fed local beef on the menu...had a double bacon cheeseburger burger w/sweet potato fries...the best!! And your homemade buns are delicious too!
Thank you!
Funky spot - don’t blink you will miss it. Burgers are outstanding!! The only negative is ONLY outdoor seating so in cold weather forget it.More

One of my best time I had with friends.. fósil falls, Bishop ca, mammoth ca, and butterflies Road hike
OK. In Bishop, hungry. My son found this place on Google Maps. Its out of town a bit, and looks like its about to fall apart, but the food is good, people are friendly, and its popular. Hint, Part on the highway. There is a...small circular driveway with about 6 spots but assume they are in use. Don't enter and turn right or you will be in the drive through which intersects with the people in line to order. Yes, the people have to move so the drive through customers can exit. This place has good food and a fun attitude.More
Get off the main streets of Bishop to find the road stop burger joint. It’s a walk up window and most seating is outside. The burgers are outstanding and worth the wait. Go early or in middle of week to avoid long lines.
When we first pulled into the small parking lot, we weren't sure we were at the right place. It's a fair bit out of town in front of a trailer park, and it looks like it was thrown together from scrap construction materials. I wouldn't...have been surprised if there were a corncob-pipe-smoking granny in a rocking chair with a shotgun on her lap sitting out front. After we ordered we found seats were at a premium and a continuous stream of new patrons made it quite crowded. The burgers were very good, as were the fries and onion rings. They have a good selection of burgers to choose from, so we may be back to try some more.More
This is a must stop in Bishop. Great burgers—we all got the classic. Great fries—both regular and sweet potato. My son ordered a chocolate shake. They brought a mixed strawberry-chocolate. They admitted their mistake and gave him a taste. He kept it even though they...offered to make a chocolate shake. Really good atmosphere. Nice casual seating. Great views from outside.More
