Was in town on business and a local recommended Amigo’s. They had the entrance set up for one customer at time. The staff was very friendly and the food was phenomenal! I opened the large container of salsa thinking no way would I eat it...all, it was half gone before I even looked at my entree! The Cancun enchiladas were amazing! Fresh and light. Will definitely return!More

Great Mexican food! I always judge Mexican restaurants by salsa and chili rellenos. Both were excellent.

Years ago, i stopped at this little Mexican food restaurant and enjoyed one of my most memorable meals ever. I finally returned and i am happy to find it is every bit as good as i remember. It must be good to survive, because there’s...a larger, newer Mexican restaurant right next door (and another in the next block). Great prices. Great service. They specialize in Vera Cruz-style touches, like putting sweet mangoes in their home made salsa. The Thursday special, lomo de puerco, features cranberry sauce - and it is mouth-watering. My two companions had massive vegan-friendly burritos - which they consumed to the last morsel. We almost extended our trip an extra day, so we could go back for Friday lunch. Next time!More

I think that they try to be homestyle and interesting but for us they didn't get above average nevertheless.

Just plain great food. Decor plain, not fancy but super service and great Mexican food. Good prices and portions. Salsa great, they have a good cook. We had tostados and a taco salad, generous portions. Recommend if you are hungry.

Decided to try Amigos after driving from Vegas through DVNP. We were seated quickly and the service was very good. We really liked the salsa. The red sauce on the beef enchiladas was very good. The shredded beef in lieu of the typical ground beef...was a surprise as well.More

We stopped in just to try something different. After the 5 star lunch we had at Jack's here in Bishop, we almost went back there. We instead made the mistake of going to Amigos. The three of us were seated quickly by a busser that...never stopped working. He would be a great employee anywhere he works. An older Mexican man that works hard. Our server was a female (receipt says we were helped by Rosaura, not sure if this was her). We ordered, I got the taco salad and asked to pay extra for beans to be added. The taco salad comes and there are no beans. I got the attention of the hard working busser and asked him to get the female server. She was a couple tables up obviously flirting or talking with 3 guys at another table. She looked over at our table when he told her and she kept standing there talking and laughing. The restaurant is full so really no time anyways. So she finally comes over and I politely tell her that they forgot the beans. She asks me if I'm sure. I say yes. I dig thru the salad in front of her and she says, "I think I see some there." First of all, she didn't, second, I ask her to show me as they aren't there. She then says, "so what, you want me to bring you a tablespoon of beans then?" I said that if I am paying a dollar for beans, then I want beans. And more than a tablespoon. She says she thinks they are in there. I tell her forget the beans, I will just go without since she wants to argue and effectively is calling me a liar. I would have given this place a one star but my 2 friends enjoyed their meal and the busser was such a super hard worker. He alone is really worth 2 stars, but no way this place deserves more than that. We should have went back to Jacks.More

Was busy, so we thought wed try it. We are used to good Mexican food where we live but this was disappointing. Service was good and staff very friendly.

Great Mexican food. In addition to the regular enchiladas, it had different varieties from various regions in Mexico. My enchilada did not have a tortilla but it was delicious with lots of cheese and sweet tomatoes. My chile rellano was good too and not too...spicy. Lots of good refried beans and rice on plate. And the homemade tortilla chips were super too. I live in Los Angeles where there are a lot of good Mexican restauranst but I wish Amigos was closer to me. Fast and friendly service. Very casual: just basicl tables and chairs. Many people wore shorts, baseball caps and T-shirts.More
