My husband and I visited The Stinking Rose for lunch while in LA as part of a trip exploring the West Coast. We both enjoy garlic, so we thought it would be fun to check this place out and we were right! We started our...meal with bread and a wheel of cheese, which had garlic between its wedges, of course. We both had steaks with garlic mashed potatoes and spinach sauteed with garlic. The sides were a bit heavy on the oil but everything was very tasty! The atmosphere was a lot of fun as well. We sat in a booth in a circus-like tent. The service was a little slow but friendly. The price was reasonable for LA. It was a really nice lunch!More

My mother in law has been talking about this place for years. She frequents the one in San Francisco and said that this one was just as good. We were on the west coast to visit her and made reservations for her birthday. I am...not really a lover of olive oil or pesto but the pesto and olive oil with garlic dip that we got for our bread won me over. The dishes were well portioned and very tasty. I enjoyed the mussels and shrimp and the steak was delightful. We enjoyed our food. The atmosphere was fun and lively making for a very good time. I look forward to our next trip to the west coast in November with our adult children and their families, we will bring them here to experience this great restaurant. It is highly recommended.More

I don’t care too much for their food but I enjoy coming here for the atmosphere. Everything is made with garlic even their famous garlic ice cream. They give you bread which is delicious and you can ask for more. The garlic oil is so...yummy. Ask for a container to go. The staff were super friendly, attentive and prompt. The drinks came out slow but it was extremely busy, and it was a Sunday night. I just ordered a salad as I don’t care for their food. A few vegetarian options but not a fan of the dishes. It’s a fun vibe and the staff are so friendly.More

A love for garlic is a must in order to dine at this garlic themed restaurant. I ordered the sizzling grill muscle and crabs, so delicious. The presentation is great with smoke and pop of the hot plate filled to the brim with flavor. The...garlic in a hot tub will make your mouth water when you spread it on your complimentary bread like melted butter. I highly recommend you try this spot. They will guarantee that Dracula stays away from you.More

My wife and I recently went here for dinner. The decor is very cool. A bit kitchy, but kinda classy. We loved it. The food was incredible. Server recommended the mussels and shrimp appetizer (awesome). My wife had the 40-clove chicken (which was great) and...I had the short rib (also good, but not as good as the chicken). No room for desert; too full! Highly recommend this place. Had a little tour of the place from the greeters, as well as a nice chat. They were very friendly with some great advice for tourists on what to see and do while we were in town.More

I've been going here for over 10 years. The food is good, the drinks are good, and believe it or not, the garlic ice cream is good. I don't make it to the area often these days but once or twice a year it is...my treat after doctor visits.More

The best part is the bread and the garlic dip on the table. The server was good and the blood orange margarita was very good. I did not like the lasagna. It was too thick with noodles.

In North Beach. Nice atmosphere. Our group had the mussels & shrimp, prime rib and Dungeness crab, braised short rib and pasta dish. Everything was delicious. Only downside was that we had food boxed up and they did not have plastic silverware to go with...it. Hope they consider getting some. I'm sure many patrons are out of towners staying in hotels. Silverware goes great with leftovers and dinners in San Francisco are not cheap.More
