We always eat at least one prime rib meal on visits to the USA since it is not available at home. We think we know what is good, and previously favoured the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. This place claims to be the "original 1938" Prime Rib and purveyor of seasoned salt and pepper. Served by "Mr Held"... More

If you want to take someone to a place that is meant to impress, Lawry's is the place to go. We had reservations and were directed to the lounge while waiting for our table. They had some delicious meatballs and homemade potato chips to warm up our taste buds. One of the hostesses came over and took our drink order.... More

We have been coming to Lawry's for many years now. It is always a special event when we have gone. Lawry's never disappoints... This time I ordered a rib eye steak as I like my meat "well done"..I know....It was so delicious and tasty...it came with onion rings and a decadent potato au gratin...so delicious and filled with lots of... This quiet elegant establishment which set the standard for Prime Rib has come down from its lofty position as possibly the best to just good. How sad. The salad was limp like it was sitting in a stack, the prime rib was tough and required a replacement, the side dishes were just OK. The service was wonderful and attentive which... More

I have always loved every Lawry's I have been too, especially because of their consistency and high quality, but on my last visit, there was a praying mantis (yes, the large, long green bug with big eyes and long legs) in my famous spinning bowl salad! Not only did the server NOT apologize, he said that since the lettuce is... More

Saw this old school place on some food show. AND having used their seasoning salt had to go. It was an interesting meal. I liked the spinning salad and the yorkshire pudding was fantastic. I really liked the cream corn (i can't believe I said that). Meat was good, but the overall experience was surreal, almost cafeteria like.

For more than 25 years we always visited Lawry's when in LA. This time we heard an amazing story. As per usual we ordered the Lawry's cut of prime rib and what we got was about half the meat of what we got in former years, but at a slightly higher price. We enquired and complained, and here is what... More

This could be one of the best meals we had in our many travels all over the world! Cooked to perfection and served with style! Perfect for a special occasion. Will certainly go back!

A lot of hype. The restaurant has a really nice nostalgic ambiance to it. But it is very crowded and once they see you have almost finished your meal they come a take your plate away before you finish chewing. It's pricey, and it's $8 just to park the car. My Prime Rib came with a hot plate but a... More

My father in laws favorite eatery was the old Lawry's California garden center . It has been closed for many years. I was excited when I found out we were going to a birthday celebration at the Lawry's prime rib since I had never been to this location. The food and the service were great but the tables are much... Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
