Name of the restaurant indicates its limited menu - essentially steak or fish. John Dory apparently is flown in from New Zealand and may have been in the air the same time as we were flying to USA from Australia - as an indicator of price, $40 served with creamed spinach. Dark panelled room and white jacketed waiters/waitress suggests jacket... More

Traveling through Hollywood on a tour bus, cut the tour short to walk through Rodeo Dr. Expected to find an over priced over rate restaurant for lunch. The Grill on the Alley however was excellent: fabulous, charming and attentive service; food quality excellent. My son loved the chicken pot pie, my wife and I had fish, both with capers, very... The atmosphere, the staff and the food are first class at this restaurant. But the standout for us was their John Dory fish. We have eaten this fish in its native areas of New Zealand and Australia, however, the cut, preparation and taste at this restaurant are outstanding. Their fish is flown in direct from New Zealand, so its very... More

On our last night in LA the concierge booked this restaurant. A simple restaurant and bar with booths and waiters wearing white jackets. There were 5 of us and we were accommodated in a booth at the rear of the restaurant. The portions are huge, I have never seen jacket potatoes that big, and the side orders of green vegetables... Quality food. Had the NY strip, was cooked perfectly. Service was great. We also had the fried onions. Incredibly good. Definitely a place to revisit. Didn't give 5 stars because the steak and other food, although quality, didn't stand out from other restaurants. If you are looking for quality, consistent food and service, this is a great place to visit.

Old world classic vibe. Greeted by friendly staff, made new customers feel like regulars. Very fresh heirloom tomatoes salad. Hamburger was huge and delicious. Old school liver & onions what else can you say? Peanut Cole slaw was to die for. Highly recommend! 81/2 out of 10.

This little gem is tucked behind the shopping scene of Rodeo. Our concierge recommended the restaurant and told us casual attire was fine. When we arrived inside this small, but beautifully decorated interior, we thought, wow, we are under dressed! However, the maitre d was so kind, never gave us a second glance and we were seated within minutes. Our... More

this has a reputation of fine dining and they continue to do so. Their grilled meat and poultry always are excellent. I have visited often in the past and will continue to do so.

Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
