Movie stars? Maybe. Food, less than fair. Prices too high. Service is fair. I can't understand its popularity! Their interpretation of traditional Jewish cuisine, leaves much to be desired.

Feel the New York vibe as soon as you step through the door. And their Reuben sandwich is served the way it's supposed to be made. Quality corned beef sliced thin yet piled high, and just the right balance of sauerkraut and dressing..um good. The onion rings were light and crispy, not soggy. We loved the potato salad, too! Our... More

Loved my pastrami sandwich. I'm sure there have been many deals discussed in this place. If you are looking for a solid value and a more or less traditional deli this should be on your list. I was very pleased with my experience and I don't often give an excellent rating. I'm not saying it is the best restaurant, just... More

Has a breakfast meeting with a local Beverly Hills resident. Good classic breakfast great omelet with rye toast. Had a short wait. Old school waitresses. Lunch menu looked great with deli sandwiches and soup. Pay at the register on the way out.

Came here on a recommendation and it didn't disappoint. We were lucky enough to bag one of the few outdoor tables so that we could watch the world go by as is such a pleasure in Beverly Hills. We had the eggs with hash brown and bacon. The hash brown was homemade and cooked to perfection as was the bacon,... More

If this was Nate 'n Al's sandwich shop, I wouldn't be as critical. But, this place wants to conger up images of an old-fashioned delicatessen, which it is not. It is more like the Stage Deli west; a lot of real deli items (matzo ball soup, challah, kasha, etc. ) surrounded by a few items that just destroy anything that... More

Nate 'n Al's has been around for ages and is an "okay" deli. Not bad, not great. The food is adequate, the service stereo-typically rude and the place quite noisy. In the 70's you would invariably see a celebrity in this restaurant but that's a bygone era now. I personally prefer driving the distance to Fairfax Ave. to a deli... More

Best pastrami or corned beef on rye in the area. Try half sandwich as whole is humongous! All sandwiches good but portion sizes very large. Seating inside and out, great people watching. Always a wait for tables but line goes fast.

I don't get the big deal. The menu is huge, and the food is just okay. I thought --they have some nice Jewish food on the menu let's give it a try. Had the chopped liver sandwich and had a potato pancake. It was the most bland chopped liver I ever had. The potato pancake was more like a hockey... More

Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
