Came here on a recommendation and it didn't disappoint. We were lucky enough to bag one of the few outdoor tables so that we could watch the world go by as is such a pleasure in Beverly Hills. We had the eggs with hash brown and bacon. The hash brown was homemade and cooked to perfection as was the bacon,... More

If this was Nate 'n Al's sandwich shop, I wouldn't be as critical. But, this place wants to conger up images of an old-fashioned delicatessen, which it is not. It is more like the Stage Deli west; a lot of real deli items (matzo ball soup, challah, kasha, etc. ) surrounded by a few items that just destroy anything that... More

Nate 'n Al's has been around for ages and is an "okay" deli. Not bad, not great. The food is adequate, the service stereo-typically rude and the place quite noisy. In the 70's you would invariably see a celebrity in this restaurant but that's a bygone era now. I personally prefer driving the distance to Fairfax Ave. to a deli... More

Best pastrami or corned beef on rye in the area. Try half sandwich as whole is humongous! All sandwiches good but portion sizes very large. Seating inside and out, great people watching. Always a wait for tables but line goes fast.

I don't get the big deal. The menu is huge, and the food is just okay. I thought --they have some nice Jewish food on the menu let's give it a try. Had the chopped liver sandwich and had a potato pancake. It was the most bland chopped liver I ever had. The potato pancake was more like a hockey... More

Huge sandwich by European standards. I understood too late why the very friendly and funny waitress proposed a half at first. It was so delicious I ate it all nevertheless, but didn't have any diner ! 😊

This Jewish delicatessen/restaurant is an institution dating back to the 20's I believe. It's the place to go for good wholesome food in substantial portions OR some traditional Jewish fare. It's been 2 years since we were last here and I couldn't wait to enjoy their food. Here's what we had: Liver on a bagel-OMG!!, best liver ever, huge amounts... More

Reliable but unimpressive fare ranging from matzo ball soup to good deli sandwiches. Good place to go if you're craving a good bagel with smoke salmon or your (Jewish) childhood favorites as the restaurant seems stuck in a bygone era that at times one wants to revisit.

We ordered 3 sandwiches. All variations on a corned beef special (Russian dressing and coselaw)--corned beef, turkey and tongue. The sandwiches were ok. Rye bread a bit stale, coselaw not too much taste to it. The matzah ball soup was a generous portion and tasty. I would say that we get much better sandwiches at the neighborhood deli across from... Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
