Step inside Il Fornaio and take a culinary journey through Italy. Early mornings bring rustic, crisp crusted bread hot from the oven accompanied by the scent of fresh brewed espresso. During lunch and dinner hours, pastas and flavorful sauces simmer while meats and vegetables roast over hot coals. Bottles of wine from small, regional wineries are uncorked to complement the dishes, which have been crafted in the custom of Italy's chefs, bakers and homemakers. Il Fornaio means "the Baker" in Italian. This award-winning restaurant offers an authentic and unique Italian dining experience. Specialties include wood-fired rotisserie and grilled meats, poultry and game; housemade pastas; pizzas from an oak wood burning oven; fresh salads and housemade soups; a wide variety of desserts; and fresh baked bread made daily from scratch. Winner of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2007.

Decent Italian food at a slightly expensive price

Decent Italian food at a slightly expensive price. I went with my parents. The service was excellent. We ordered Caesar Salad, Margarita Pizza, and Seafood pasta. All dishes were great but salty. The bread is delicious. The food is great and the portions are reasonable.

Il Fornaio was a couple blocks from our hotel, we were out all day and needed some well deserved carbs! Il Fornaio had great pasta and great wine and the service was awesome! Oh and get the bread pudding for dessert with gelato it was awesome!

I had dinner here on Christmas night, since this was one of only a handful of options. Nicely appointed restaurant, excellent service. A bit expensive for the offerings (but given the location that's to be expected) I had a traditional pizza margharita which was tasty, although the crust was a bit thick and doughy. Nice location, although food is at... More

It was my second time dining here at the Il Fornaio in Beverly Hills. My expectations were pretty high that i usually go to the one in Pasadena which is outstanding.. We do not mind the drive from Riverside for a great dining experience. Always busy but, the food is always so delicious. The first time I came here with a friend I tried the chef's special which was a linguini with peas and mushroom in a light sauce. Unfortunately, that has never been offered again. As we wait for our... More

One of us had a great meal, the other did not. Service was friendly. The one who ordered the carpaccio and chicken was happy. The other meal (minestrone & pasta) was disappointing. It lacked taste.

We came here for my brother-in-law's birthday with 4 adults and 2 kids. Great options for both adults and kids and they kindly threw in dessert and brought it out with candles for my brother-in-law. Reasonably priced for Beverly Hills.

Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
