Our group actually wanted to go to Kiraku which is almost just next door. There was a long line so we thought we'll pop down to the Japanese place next to it which is Norinoko. It was quite full too and we had to wait for one of the tables to leave. But it was a wise decision to wait.... More

My wife and I have a long list of restaurants that we want to visit or revisit. I had not been at Norikonoko for a number of years. We went for dinner on a Friday night, and went early. The restaurant was operating just a limited number of days (perhaps Thursday thru Sunday) and we did not know what the... More

My husband, Sophie (our golden doodle service dog), and I visited this place yesterday. Stellar food. We got 2 robata items - shiitake mushrooms and maui onions. Great pickles on the side. We got a rice ball with salted plum and bonito flakes. Yum. I can't say enough good stuff about the egg custard. I love that dish - shrimp,... More

Our family has been going to Norikonoko for at least 25 years. We would bring our baby and her grandmother (obachan in Japanese). Noriko makes fresh Japanese side dishes every day. Her husband grills the robata (grilled veggies, fish or meat). This restaurant is similar to the small family run restaurants one would encounter in Japan. (See the Japanese TV... More

I've eaten here several times. It has an appealing rustic atmosphere but it needs to be cleaned up a bit. It's a greasy spoon but is not longer because the prices are somewhat higher than warranted. Based on what I've seen, it is just typical of a college town environment -- little flavor and too expensive. Who pays $10-12 for... More

Walking on Telegraph Av., downtown Berkeley, you'll pass in front of a small, cute japanese restaurant, which you shouldn't miss. If you're having your meal early enough, you might get lucky and have great fish food in this cozy, family run restaurant. The ambience is very relaxed, Berkeley is still a college town. The restaurant is filled with everything, thousands... More

I was recommended to this place by one of my friends and I was very pleased with it. The chicken is very tender and tasty, the fries are crunchy and the side sauces are delicious. I will definitely come back to Fonzies very soon. Joseph

We parked on a side street to go to Buffalo Exchange. I got out of the car and I could smell this incredibly great combo of chicken, onion and spices cooking. I forgot about Buffalo Exchange and started following my nose. I had passed the building before but only thought it was the Japanese place. I did not know that... More

Portions are small, flavoring is sparce and prices are high. But it isn't by any means horrible.
