We recently had lunch at this unassuming Pakistani restaurant. The decor is in need of updating, but the food is well prepared and flavorful. I had the the Lamb Karahi, tender lamb cooked in a rich spiced sauce with green beans. It was delicious. The naan was very good also. Unlike many Indian restaurants we did not get any complementary... More

This was a short walk from the hotel and very good Pakistani food. One thing to remember is that nothing comes with your dinner; if you want rice, you have to pay for it; if you want Nan bread, there's a charge. But overall really good.

The place is along University Ave. They serve delicious Pakistani cuisine. The service was good. The place needs some renovation. There is parking at the side of the building and it's free. The price of the food is reasonable.

Yuck! Hair in the bread. I brought it to the waiter's attention. It didn't seem to be a big deal. He offered another bread. No way would I want to risk it with another bread likely from the same batch of dough that someone did not bother to wear a hairnet while kneading. There are plenty of other places on... More

Kind of funky place - the food is obviously good as it is always busy and the prices are a throwback to a decade ago - where do you get a full chicken dish for $8 now? the best part of this - though some of you probably would think the opposite - is the staff/owners - they are a... More

This restaurant was literally a hole-in-the-wall kind of eatery across the street. There was always a line-up and for good reason. The tables were crammed together and the owner personally came to each table to take the order in an affable tone. In time, they relocated to a larger dining area across the street and the atmosphere hasn’t been the... More

I was staying down the street at the Marina Inn and looking for a nice meal before calling it a night. Stumbled into Kabana Restaurant and glad I did. I went with the owner's recommendation of the Karahi Chicken and the lamb curry. Little heat with the Chicken but not so much that you feel your mouth burning. Both dishes... More

The food is great. .ordered the goat curry, okra, Naan, lamb kebab and all of it was tasty. I would say the service could use a make over. .with a more friendly staff.

The food was not bad but the two elderly gentleman that worked there might as well be Nazi. It felt like they are constantly yelling at us. My friend and I ordered the same tandoori fish dish and without asking us they combined our dish together. When we tried to tell them we wanted it separately they told us to... More

Berkeley has many restaurants that serve Pakistani and Indian food. I have been to several that I like. Yet, the place that I like the best for its food is Kabana. I seem to recall that many years ago, Kabana made it onto the Top 100 Restaurants of the Bay Area list that is put out by the San Francisco... More
