Got takeout here because they have plenty of vegetarian options, but the food was extremely oily, had a weird smell, and had a hair in it. The people also weren’t too friendly. Look elsewhere for Thai food in Berkeley.

The location is charming. The service was nice. And lunch was delicious. Nothing more to be said. Oh, and the coffee across the street was a perfect ending to a nice afternoon strolling the streets of Berkeley with my family.
Looking for a place to eat near UC Berkeley and my hotel, I found this little Thai restaurant along the main road. At 19:30, the restaurant was half full. Ordered a serving of pad Thai, a personal favorite, and satay chicken. One of the four...chicken skewers was a little undercooked, but only because that one was thicker than the other three. Anyways, left one of the skewers untouched. The pad Thai was excellent tasting and can easily serve two. Would come back next time. Only negative would be the dark ambiance; need more lighting. Excellent service too.More
Great food, one of the best Thai meals I’ve had. Pleasant Staff and ambiance. Definitely one to go back to.
Came in for a college tour of Cal Berkeley and had decided on Thai food for dinner. The restaurant we used to go to years ago when we lived in the area, was closed. Gave Thai Delight a try. Servers did not speak much English...which I view as a positive. Ordered three dishes (Pad Thai with shrimp, basil chicken with eggplant, and pineapple fried rice, plus a Thai iced tea). All dishes were prepared well and provided generous portions. The Thai ice tea was authentic. As others have pointed out, this is a smaller restaurant and had a quiet ambiance. Parking was ample since it is about a mile from the main campus on Shattuck Ave. Plenty of metered parking across the street. Seems like more of a local's neighborhood restaurant rather than student hang out, although surely some students will discover this solid Thai restaurant. Some off campus housing is nearby, Overall a positive dining experience. Our room had a microwave and fridge so we had the leftovers for lunch the next day after the campus tour!More
Great food, good service.....all the workers are friendly to all, making sure to greet super nicely and call out a wonderful goodbye. Pretty rare these days. Small place, good ambiance.
I had my bday celebration here, with some friends, they were very accommodating offering us also a central place in the restaurant so that it seems that it was booked only for us. I enjoyed all my meals here, the food is fresh, good environment...and they have good prices at lunch.More
This is a very nice little Thai restaurant......booths on two sides and a few tables in the middle. There were six of us and an infant. Needless to say, a great variety of food was ordered: five appetizers ($6.25-8.95) and six main courses ($8.95-9.95). The...prices seemed very reasonable to me, and the portions were large. Everyone enjoyed their respective dishes and the shared dishes. The service was very good. The server made it a point to tell me that they had put a "service charge" (tip) on the check (because of the group size). I thought that was a very nice thing to tell me.More
The Thai food here is very freshly prepared and tasty. Be sure to talk about the spiciness you desire with the server. I ordered the Thai Beef Salad without asking, and it was a bit spicy for me. There are many vegetarian options. The curries...are very good. We sat in the front, next to the windows, and the bench seats could be a problem for anyone with back issues. Parking is never easy in this neighborhood. It is in the "gourmet ghetto" area of Berkeley. Be willing to drive away from Shattuck Ave. and into the residential areas for parking. Buses come along Shattuck from the Berkeley BART station.More
I took my sisters to 5 different restaurants this last week while they were visiting Berkeley - Comal, Rivoli, Great China, Assemble (o.k., that/s in Richmond), and Thai Delight. Thai Delight was the only one where we could have a quiet conversation. And besides that,...the food was well prepared, arrived quickly, and served by friendly staff. Oh, yes, there is a short beer and wine list, no mixed drinks. Family friendly, and right on Shattuck Avenue a few blocks north of University.More
My first visit and it was a good one. We were seated promptly and our orders taken quickly. The service was efficient. We didn't have too much time but ordered two tofu dishes and the Thai iced tea to drink which was a winner! Thirst...quenching and not too sweet. There were no frills to the experience and no real personality but the food was fresh and delicious so I'd return for sure. On the way out I saw they had an organic menu which looked quite extensive. Some 'personality' to the service would have been nice but overall the food was great and was all we needed.More
This is my kind of Red Curry Chicken! The Thai Delight Cuisine has chosen the right name because the Thai food they serve is delicious! Perfect curry and enough on the plate for my lunch meal. I'll be back for more!
This has been one of the mainstays of Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto. We have eaten here for a long time. There are some really good meals. Try the chicken satay, the deep fried Tofu with peanut sauce and broccoli, and the chicken with eggplant ( my...favorite).More
We dined family style with the following items: 1) Vegetarian spring rolls - very fresh and tasty. 2) Tom Ka Soup - was ok - lacked richness and body. 3) Eggplant with pork - nicely done - but came with pieces of pork vs ground...pork. 4) Pad Thai with Tofu - Yum ! 5) Pad See Ew with Beef - very very good - although a bit on the sweet side. Overall - really nice food in a neighborhood restaurant. Comfortable and unpretentious. Fresh, tasty, and decent value.More
