This place is wonderful. Depending where you walk in, you either enter through the grocery (east side) or food area (south side). The grocery isn't large, but it has an assortment of spices and other items. The "restaurant" is more of a cafeteria area. They have laminated menus and also a written menu above where you order. You pick up... More

I've been here a few times and it hasn't disappointed me yet. As others have mentioned, you order at one location and then they call your name to pick up your food at another location. Food comes out pretty fast and the prices are very reasonable. Be prepared for the long lines especially on the weekends. Don't expect a lot... More

Vik's Chaat corner has some of the best Indian food in Berkeley. It's spicy, authentic, and great for eating by hand. It has a wide variety of food, from sweets, to snacks, to main dinner courses. I love the chicken rolled in bread with peppercorns and sauces. I would really reccomend Vik's if you like spicy Indian food. It is... More

The term chaat describes a savory snack served from food carts in India. Vik's is large converted warehouse with cafeteria style service. You order at one counter, pay, give your name and they call you when your dish is done. No waiters, no tablecloths. It's noisy, busy, fun. Part of the fun is people watching - all kinds of folks... Ok - it's a little disorienting when you first enter - in fact, it's a little crazy inside of Vik's Chaat Corner with the unusual industrial space, loud sounds, Indian food aromas and slightly confusing ordering system. But the food is crazy good with tons of vegetarian options. You'd be crazy not to check it out.

This is a wonderful place to get Indian food in the East Bay. They have a wide variety of very tasty Indian specialties and have a friendly staff and low prices. You don't get table service, but the atmosphere is sunny and bright and I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here. They close early, so come before 6 if you want... More

Vik's, a well known restaurant in West Berkeley, is easy to get to by car. I take out of town visitors here, and everyone loves it. Bringing pan-Indian food to the West Berkeley area, I like to go whenever I'm there. I like the weekday Thali the best, for value and for flavor, the masala dosa is my weekend favorite.

Viks is beloved in Berkeley. All kinds of people come here for the great Indian snack and street food. The atmosphere is noisy and casual to put it mildly. You get your food from the counter and take it to your table. No tabkecloths and sound echoes. Viks has limited evening hours. Don't come here for ambience but for tasty... More

This is a place to go if you are hungry for good food but don't care about the atmosphere. It's like eating in a cafeteria. You order, pay and they call your name when your food is ready. You go to the counter and get your food. And it's also inexpensive, which is nice. Personally, I think the service could... More

Vik's Chaat is akin to a Jewish deli. You order at the counter and then hope to find a table and wait til your name is called to pick up your order. the atmosphere isn't beautiful but the whole environment is fun and the food is delicious!! Vik's is a must-go-to whenever we're in the San Francisco area.
