We've been going here 35 year's and the food is still delicious. Some of the same family still works there. For a authentic taste of Mexico give it a try. Large portions...great to share or leftovers.

This awful restaurant has been here forever. There are so many better Mexican restaurants in Berkeley. Save your money and get more authentic food elsewhere.

I really love this place. Excellent chips, enchiladas, salsas, and wine margaritas, and superior service. Juan's has been around forever, apparently, (Juan himself still shows up) and when you eat here, you see why it has been. I don't visit this part of the world too often, but when I do, I try to eat here.

My husband just loves this place for its classic California Mexican restaurant ambiance and its very traditional California Mexican cuisine. If you want to know what Mexican food in Northern California was like before burritos took over, this is the place to go. (Of course, they do have burritos now, as they do keep up with the times.) Recently we... More

I was taken here by my boss. So I am greatful however, I think from what I'm told they used to be better. There was a lot of sauce but not much flavor. I was really disappointed in what I had, including the salsa. I just don't know what else I can say. I would not return.

I have been eating here for over forty years, Not much has changed. Same owners, same food, house made chips, salsa and guacamole. And a loyal following. Try the seafood encheladas and birria.

Standard Mexican food. Warm, family environment. Huge portions. Not a great selection of beers, but all the standard Mexican crevasses.

Juan's has been there forever--like over 40 years! It is basic, good California-Mexican food in a down-home atmosphere. The chips are hot and fresh, the service is prompt and friendly, the portions are generous and the prices very reasonable. They have the best chili verde burrito anywhere and it is huge! At times one may see Juan himself who is... More

WOW... best food, prices fit my budget, fast service. If you eat in or take out this is the best. You won't go away hungry. Servers are attentive and helpful. Chips are fresh, salsa is flavorful, and fajitas are top notch. Tacos rock too. It is our family tradition for Friday nights.
