We ate here a few times on the terrace in the back. The flowers were in bloom and the tables have large umbrellas for shade. It is the perfect place to have a glass of Rose and salade niciose. Also tried their Ratatouille. Coffee very good too. The service was prompt and professional.

I have been here a few times for breakfast and weekend brunch and have always had a good experience. Expect a wait on weekends, but it's worth it. Efficient, friendly staff, moderate prices, *great* breakfast menu.

Always enjoyable. Lunch for 5 this time. Service a little erratic but friendly. My curry chicken salad nicoise style was original and tasty. One of our favorite spots in Berkeley.

This is a sweet little oasis in downtown Berkeley. The secret is the garden in the back- Away from the madding crowd. Reasonable prices, good food, light ambience.

One of the joys of eating in Paris is people watching and having a meal in some tucked away courtyard restaurant. That experience can be recreated very well at La Note. There is a beautiful patio at the rear of the restaurant that is a delightful place to enjoy a meal. I particularly enjoy breakfast on the patio since it's... More

La Note does a good job of creating a feeling of a country French bistro. When crowded, it can be a bit noisy, but the waitress encouraged us to turn our table sideways so we could sit side-by-side: a nice touch. The food was hearty and delicious. We appreciated that the meat was from Niman Ranch. And some of the... More

I was pleased to get to experience this restaurant. It seems popular and there was a small wait for Tuesday brunch. It feels similar to a French bistro. The tables are close together and the decor worn. I ordered cafe au lait, pain au chocolat, omelet with potato and Provencal tomatoes. The pain came quite a while before the cafe.... More

If you need a little French recharge, here's the place. A nice cafe with the usual offerings of croque Monsieur, onion soup, but a hearty salade Niçoise that can fill two people up. It's also refreshing to go to a place that serves French bread. Hooray for butter!

Went with a group of 8, two of which were young children (6,2). Took them a while to come around and take orders. Ordered drinks immediately, which were delivered a few minutes later, then were about in need of a coffee refill before she returned to take our food order. Normally not a big deal, but with kids, the amount... More

Wow. Great for breakfast (for almost everything). Came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning around 9 AM. Was very busy, but got a table in about 20 minutes. The L'oeufs Lucas were delicious--eggs were creamy, and just enough cheese to add flavor without overpowering them. The tomatoes that came with them were out of this world--huge flavor and they...
