This place is so good so authentic. We love eating here. Toro is top quality. Meckerel grilled is really good without being fishy. Also they dont lie about the source of fish. One customer at the bar next to me asked about the source of yellowtail or some fish. The chef said "yeaa that one is from china". So there... More

One of the very first Japanese restaurants. Still a great choice, ultra fresh fish and family service. Usually very busy and they don't take reservations, so go early or. E patient but it is worth the wait. Prices reasonable for the quality of the food.

I like basic sushi (not the fancy and inventive rolls), and this place has great fish. They also have good Sake mixed drinks (for people like me who don't actually like sake that much). I recommend coming here early in the evening, even on a weekday!

Kirala is the best in Berkeley and East Bay when it comes to Robata. Our favorite is the grilled hamachi. This restaurant is always crowded because of its goodness. You can't make a reservation and no take out. You join the crowd and see it for yourself.

My wife and myself stopped I'm for lunch. Very nice. Good sushi, good appetizer, and we tried some buckwheat noodles which we didn't like but they weren't bad just not our taste. The desert was amazing. Green tea ice cream and Japanese sweet potatoe pie. Out of this world.

Get here shortly after they open at 5 pm or be prepared to wait for a table. It crowds up quickly for good reason...superb sushi and other Japanese dishes.

This place is a true Japanese eatery. The food is a close as I've come to expect from having been there myself. The service and seating is American and the seating is by wait only (no reservations, you've been warned)! When we want to go, we get there at least 15 minutes before opening to guarantee we get a seat.... More
