Ambience: As with most Berkeley restaurants, the seating is tightly packed. But the decor is fun and warm. Cocktails / Wine: I used to always get wine until my husband introduced me to a French 75. I'm not a lover of gin, but wowzah! I am now a fan of the French 75 - champagne, gin, lemon juice and simple... More

This is a go-to restaurant. The food and atmosphere for Christmas Eve was truly amazing. Everyone at our table of nine raved about their meal. The wait staff was so attentive, particularly given a large dining crowd, they made us feel as if we were the only ones there.

A real French bistro with very tasty food that's nicely presented. No refills of drinks but we did get a 10% discount for seeing a show at the Berkeley Rep afterwards.

One of my favorite places to go for reliable steak frites, or other French classics. Both the food and the interior are authentic, one feels as though one has been transported to Paris. Good spot for before or after theater.

A bit pricey for lunch but oh my gosh! Felt like I was back in Paris!! Wish I could have ordered a bottle of Bordeaux and sat for a couple hours.....another time. Until then, I'll dream of the rich, delicious beef bourguignon they serve - YUM!!!! Huge pieces of meat that fell apart with a touch of my fork -... More

I am not disappointed when I return to this all time favorite. We were a party of 4, arriving at 5, so no problem w/st parking or getting a table. All were pleased with the service, wine (Côte d'Rhone), Boeuf Bourguignons, Salade Nicoise (perfection), Ratatouille, side of spinach (salty), even the sweet butter and asst breads were delic. Serving portions... More

went to eat as we were looking for another place that was closed and we saw this place and just went in. the onion soup was real French style (ON wine and not WITH wine) but a bit strong, my soup of the day was good. the main courses were OK. quite expensive for what we add.

The place was packed and noisy, which gave it a parisian atmosphere. There was live music and a nice menu with three courses and wine.

on bastille day this restaurant offers a special prix fixe (two choices in each category as well as vegetarian options) and live music...it is a bit noisy but very celebratory (although this night a bit sober after the news from France). Food is excellent and generous, music is very French, service is attentive. We go here every year on bastille... More
