The restaurant has both indoor seating and a nice outdoor patio. Loved the mimosa selection! I also appreciated that the menu had a great variety of both standard breakfast items and more unique options, including some wonderful-sounding vegetarian choices. I had a sweet potato hash that was delicious, and my husband had an omelette with very flavorful ham and sun... More

This is more than your "bacon and eggs" place, even though they have wonderful bacon served with their eggs. And not a side of toast, but your choice of toast, English muffin, muffins(!), and even.....scones. 'Zounds! Imagine what kinds of dishes they serve. Whelp, it's varied as well. Good huevos rancheros but overdoes it on the cilantro and onions. So... More

Very nice neighborhood restaurant. Food always good. Very popular so a wait is likely. Breakfast until 3 pm.

We made our first visit to this cute restaurant located right across from The Claremont Hotel. We were seated right away even though it looks to be quite popular and the tables were full. I ordered their delicious polenta cakes topped with spinach, sundries tomatoes, feta cheese and pesto sauce. My husband's dish included a red potato/beet hash which was... More

Parking is tight. I had the scrambled eggs with andouille sausage special. There were so many ingredients that the eggs got lost. The coffee was excellent.

This restaurant is an institution in Berkeley; always serving good, reliable breakfast faire. I find the menu very good, but unexceptional. It is not a knock on the restaurant, but my feeling is that a chef should do something better than you can do at home. The more complex the course, the easier it is for him/her to outshine you.... We've often come for breakfast meetings at 8 but I was impressed to see it just as full today--a weekday--at 10 am. The menu is consistently interesting and the food very good. (The oatmeal is unsalted but that's a universal complaint!) Eggs are well cooked--even when poached: a rarity. Scones are always good, the fruit cup included ripe berries (with... More

We ate breakfast here at the rec of our son who lives in Berkeley. DON'T MISS THIS PLACE!! Super quaint, friendly, clean. The food is exceptional, and service is great. We walked up from Hotel Shattuck, which was a nice UPHILL walk, but Uber-ed back to the hotel afterwards.

Rick and Ann's is a Berkeley mainstay. It's busy and energetic . . . great food, attentive service, both indoor and outdoor dining. A favorite of the locals . . . but out of towners feel just as welcome.

We've been dining at Rick and Anne's for years. It's one of our neighborhood joints. The food is consistently delicious. It's a homey place, it can be loud, and feel crowded, and the wait times can be a bit long. As much as we love this place, the service can be inconsistent. Sometimes it's great, sometimes, not so much. But... More
