I love this place. Sophisticated but laid back in a Berkeley kind of way. The menu is not extensive, but the food is simply delicious. I've loved both meals I had there.

A friend and I recently ate at LaLime's and we both wondered why we don't eat here more often since it is always a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is lovely, the food is fantastic, as is the service. They have a full bar and a good wine list. There is plenty for me, as a pescatarian, to eat. It also... More

Lalimes has been open a long time and I gave up on them as being stuffy and dull for many years until Chef Anthony Paone was brought in. He's worked at the many family restaurants over the years - Fonda, T-Rex, Sea Salt.... and now he's made this a go-to for me and my wife. We prefer to sit around... More

Elegantly casual interior. Bar is also great for eating. It has been at least 10 years since we last ate at Lalime's and that was New Year's Eve. Excellent then and terrific now. The lamb heart was a wonderful surprise. Tender and delicately flavorful. The menu moves from small plates to medium to large. Easy to accommodate mildly hungry to... More

Lalime's is situated in a quieter neighborhood of Berkeley. Easy for parking, Mediterranean/French cuisine, I would say more Mediterranean than French by the menu. Grilled lamb heart with chimichurri sauce was exotic enough for a curious cat like me. Black cod and halibut dishes were more like an average play. The burnt honey blood orange panna cotta had an interesting... More

We always thought of Lalime as one of the best places in the East Bay and have dined there many times. However it had been a long time. It's very popular with the Baby Boomer crowd, noisy and joyful. Unfortunately our food quality was just average, nothing special, nothing wrong, but absolutely no wow factor. With lots of local alternatives,... More

This is one of two restaurants where my husband and I go for special occasions, or just to treat ourselves to a fine meal. On Tuesdays they feature small plates; on the other days there is a mixture. You can be sure to get fresh, seasonal food, perfectly prepared and presented with a very tasty and interesting flavor blend. They... More

Wow! We love this Restaurant. Everything on their Menu is fantastic. Food Heaven. Try for appetizers the Feesh Oysters on the Half shell, Chilled Shrimp, and Grilled Lamb Heart. The Pear Parsnip Soup is divine. For entrees order the Braised Oxtail, Mussels, Grilled Pork Chops. Extensive wine list. DESSERTS are divine. A MUST, even in Foodie Berkeley.
